Multiple Grids Not Supported
Hello, i always play in survival and alone, 95% of the blueprints i try, the message : "Multiple Grids are Not Supported..." tear down the ship selected.
This is a serious problem for me since I do not have the time to design each ship or base that I need. The problem occurs even with the blueprints that says ready for survival in the descriptions.
Maybe I have a problem with my installation?

im wondering if you dont have suppergridding on, try that if you dont (i dont even know what suppergridding is, but it is a option to turn it on, maybe your bp's were made with suppergridding)

Yes, I tried that option, same problem.

Multiple grids also includes all the stuff on the ends of pistons and rotors. Projectors are currently only able to project one grid at a time, leaving out anything on the ends of any piston/rotor.

There are a few workarounds. After the piston/rotor has been constructed, it's possible to put a projector out on the end (somewhere) and project the proper sub-grid in order to build it. With rotors, it's possible to build the rotor head and sub-grid elsewhere and maneuver it into position.

Something that has worked well in the past for me: Start a creative world, and spawn the complete craft in. Take blueprints of each separate sub-grid, with proper labeling as to where they go on the main-grid. Return to your survival world with your fistful of blueprints and have at it.

Info +

Hi, we can't build multigrid creations with the projector, yet!?

>> this option is in the community Testers votes so I recommend to go add your vote so this feature can be added in game.

Oh! and yes some will add "Survival ready" to their WS item decription :

that means > we can paste the ship in survival and it will not fall on the soil because it is all conveyor connected with ice, Uranium > Power in < and should be working with the projector but not all WS author does the same so why it is important to test the WS item in a Creative testing world to know more before using.

This is why in my WS creations i break down " survival ready " in to two categories in my descriptions.

1) Buildable yes/no
2) Functional yes/no

makes it much easier for players to understand what you mean by "survival ready "

That discussion is very old! 2019 and we are in 2020 ;)

Never be shy to create your form discussion cause, usually, members in will report you for "Necroing old" that is one of the forum rules added to pinned important.

I know this is an old topic, but what would be VERY nice is if you could CHOOSE which grid to project. IE, you have a ship with a main grid and a subgrid attached with a rotor. You finish the main grid, and now need the subgrid projected so you can build it in place... Except you CAN'T because the projector always ONLY projects the largest grid! This seems like an oversight.
You CAN do multiple sub grids if use the plugin mod and the subgrid mod. And its being updated as we speak lol He stated it on discord.

If interested https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2415983416&tscn=1617506804 Will need the plug in also. it should be listed.
