Painting already placed blocks, How?
Building a tank, (no treads, so I don't think it qualifies as a tank though) and I realized I need to paint it Olive Drab, but it's already built, and I would prefer not to rebuild the whole bloody thing, Playing in creative if that makes a difference

Edit

Change the colors, change the ship name and blueprint it = creation saved

P.S.
Must be in creative mode to do so.

Slighty more on topic since dan seems to misunderstood the question:

In order to repaint a block you must have a block selected on your toolbar that is itself paintable. Just select light armor for simplicity.

Now while the cursor is over a block (and not over an inventory port) press middle mouse button. This will repaint using the selected color. Pressing middle mouse while holding ctrl, shift, or ctrl+shift will paint not just the block aimed at it increasingly larger area of surrounding blocks.

You can only paint blocks when you both own the block and a majority of the entire grid, or if all of the blocks on the grid are set unowned.

Also of use, using shift+p will copy the colour of the block your looking at (in the crosshairs) into the current colour your using.

Oh! Sorry if I was mistaken!

Tho I specified :
> "Hi, I use this Mod when the job is already done and I want to change the colors :"

and I think he already knows how to paint cause he said his ship was already painted.

Thats from chosing a color as you build. He wanted to know how to change the color of something already built since the tutorial scenarios dont cover features like that.

The best ones are already in but here is all color keys detailed
(I copy pasted from a good source)

Block in hand :

> hit "P" to open to color and texture editor.
> Shift+P works as a color picker so aim at a block, hit the keys and use that aimed color.

> Select your saved colors : Switch to next/previous color.
Prev. Color = [
Next Color = ]

> Paint keys :
Middle-mouse = Color a single block.
Ctrl+Middle-mouse = Color a 3x3 area of blocks.
Shift+Middle-mouse = Color a 7x7 area of blocks.

I think that's all the color options :selike:

I was trying to recreate the Grizzly, The twin barreled tank from Halo, As I was almost finished I was like, damn it, this needs to be green, I ended up using the mod The first guy recommended, after finishing the build, I test it, The recoil of both cannons firing makes the tank do a backflip and land on its back, a single cannon firing makes it stand straight up on its side with a 50/50 chance of going back right side up, or upside down, Back to the drawing board! *screaming internally for wasting 3 hours of my life*

Don't forget to save the blueprint of your creations (ctrl + b) so if, in your case it flips an breaks you got a backup'

Dude...I don't know how I missed this, but I've been grinding and rebuilding to recolor until now. <smacks head>.
Thank you.

You're welcome!

Note
Keep in mind the game is not the same after major update and we lock old discussions not matching the game version because may contain false information so never be shy to create a new Forum Discussion that matches the game version.

That said, I now use this Mod to change and find the best color match on my creations, I do so in creative mode testing world where I add that Mod :
