Supergridding allows you to use small and large blocks on the same grid via a bluprint file edit.
Unfortunatly during that edit its also easy to make a grid invincible. Thats why they added the option :)

Always test in a copy or new world, never mess with your original saves and Blueprints.
This way you will know more and will not break your Fav saves
