did you place them down? because yours obviously wont have anything
Paco420 Aug 23, 2019 @ 12:11pm
Had the same thing happen, if its an old world it just won't work or update, only new worlds actually have AI controlled contracts and market listings.

Note: you must enable economy and teading in the advanced options for an old world. From there I believe you can set up contracts with rewards for your faction (pay based on available faction $$; which is set based upon a fixed based price, and variable increase). Am waiting for in depth youtube guide between trusted youtubers.

edit; pretty sure you can't set jobs for free resources for yourself, kinda weird to have it set up that way balancing wise. But it'd be cool to see more functional, complex player made mulitplayer centric trade stations.

he/she is not alone in this, i as well cannot buy or sell anything, i do have "enable economy" activated on a dedicated server and when you find a trade hub everything is free and i cannot use stores.
Paco420 Aug 23, 2019 @ 12:30pm
yes you can enable for old worlds to use the new economy and contract system, but it will not setup the system like is does if you make a new world. I am in an old world with the new economy and contract system and its completely blank, I started a new world and the listings were auto completed based on the faction\station\ship I was visiting.

so let me get this strait, i have to completely delete my old world on the dedicated server where many have stuff built just to activate the economy? and if i don't people can get free stuff at stations found, i don't want to delete the current save on the dedicated server to find out it still doesnt work

So this is a multiplayer thing and those of us who have horrible internet connections or just do not have time to play multiplayer have been.... pushed under the bus?

stores are ran by AI so you still have a reason to visit them

If you place the blocks then yes you won't have anything to view / buy / sell as YOU have to admin the contracts and buy / sell orders, visit an AI controlled station.

Turn off auto respawns and spawn in a pod, get the data pad out of the seat to find the first AI station in your old world ( i did this and no issues on my OLD world ).

Not seeing things for free in my old world ( a world before the economy update but with the economy enabled ) everything has a price on it and a reward that i'm seeing.

Did you get a data pad with the GPS cords for an AI station in this world as i described above ??

I'm using / testing this in old and new worlds alike in my own solo worlds ( non multiplayer ) and not seeing issues or faults and a good number have 30+ mods enabled in them too.

If this is indeed a bug, you guys can copy and paste your base into a new start, that way you have all old stuff and have fresh game. You can google copy and paste thing to find out how.

Gets a little more difficult when you have a massive base though so might be an issue. Larger bases don’t tend to like to paste into world well.

does the contracts ever run out? or is there a limited amount of contracts per station?

So will the contracts and store block still be empty for me until I visit that AI base I added to gps? I am on an old save.

The Store and Contracts blocks that YOU build will only have the things that YOU put in there. NPCs manage their own stores and contracts. No, the NPCs won't sell things for you at your own store.
If you're in a single-player game, building stores and contract blocks is ... kinda pointless unless you're using the store to deposit credits.

Yeah I am in single. Yeah it is kind of pointless. Server wise it comes in handy. I did notice with the block you can see your active contracts but that is useless too, since you can use the ; key to see them.

So I guess I will dismantle mine at base.

I did do the respawn trick to get the datapad to find first AI trade base. Thing is I am in space on astroid and AI from datapad points at earthlike, so far away, lol. Its all good, glad its working as intended.

You can also find several stations by visiting the moons in the system. In my limited experience, the Mars and Alien moons are a little sparse on stations, but the Earth's moon has quite a few. Still, you should generally start picking up beacons by time you hit gravity.
