The closest I've seen is the Easy Inventory mod that Kanjashi is using in his survival playthrough. And with that one, he has a projection of the block, and hovers his cursor over a conveyor port before pressing a button that transfers the required components for the block into his inventory.
Unfortunately, I don't know the link to the mod.

No such ability exists, you can use the build planner and for large build projects in your base
it's worth running a set of connectors with a cargo box on the end to allow you to quickly grab things out of your bases inventory without endlessly running backwards and forwards.

Or a welding ship can make life a lot easier.

Shipyard welder mods can also make one's life easier. Once the 'yard is set up, start building just the skeleton of everything. Fill your inventory with steel plates, a few construction components and some interior plate. Place down the blocks, but don't weld anything. When you like what you see, step outside the shipyard's field and turn it on. (I make sure there's handy buttons in several spots)

There's also some of the Nanite mods, but those just seem a little OP for my taste.

It would have to be a mod that boosts the welder's range. Vanilla welders don't have the needed range for a big project like that.

I dunno. Kanjashi uses one in his survival playthrough, and it takes quite a long time to get anything built, on top of the absurdly high power demands that it has.

Just use something like Nanobot Build and Repair, problem solved. You place down the frame or make a projection, it does the rest and has a long range. It only works as fast as your grind/weld speed, and still needs all the normal supplies, so it just makes things less tedious without some sort of game breaking advantage. You can also run a script that works with it to auto order any components needed.

As for the Shipyard Welder, I use one by Telemont. The weld field is expanded out to the max the game allows, and offset for best effect to work on projects. Each section has plenty of conveyor ports, and doesn't use much power. Sadly, due to game engine limits, the current size limit for a craft to pass through is about 25 large-blocks on the shortest dimension.

Still, as this is designed as a shipyard, it's not going to fix every block on a grid automatically, on the fly. What it's designed to do is weld the life into a build as it passes through, whether it be new blocks to be built, or extensive battle damage to be repaired. For that, it does a VERY good job, and looks good doing it.

I tend to have repair projectors on most everything I make, so when stuff happens, I just have to make a slow pass through the shipyard, and my toys are fixed. As for making new things from a blueprint, life gets even happier. Set up the projector and power, then drag the mess through.
I did make a little something for larger ships/stations and ground installations. Basically, it's a few of those shipyard welder sections, designed to be towed by another craft, able to weld down where it's not easy to get into for various reasons.
