SEToolbox "locate application error"
Ever since SEtoolbox updated itself i can't launch the application, every time i do i get presented with a window saying "The space engineers application cold not be located. Please specify the location of the space engineers application file". But every time i locate it i am unable to click the continue button. Anyone having this issue and if so how did you resolve it? I've updated SEtoolbox and I have the latest version of Space engineers

Are you using "SEToolbox 01.191.20 Release 1" because that's my version and it still doesn't work

Delete the SE Toolbox folder and extract again from the Zip and double click the SETool.exe to update and it will fix.

I just downloaded the "SEToolbox 01.191" and it works :selike:

Restart PC is the first thing to do.

__

SE game is installed on my C: Drive and it works fine so maybe install on the C: Drive !?
(for a test if not on C:) ... tho it should work on the other Drives, just testing to know if.

Did all that and same problem

SEtoolbox has 2 ways of launching. It has the automatic installer and it has the manual install where you can extract to a specific folder.

I've tried the automatic install several times but nothing changed.

I just tried your method and it still didn't work when extracting the files. Here is my toolbox path:

C:\Program Files (x86)\SEToolbox-01.191.20.1

SEToolbox can be extracted everywhere, mine is directly on my Desktop and I have dowloaded the first one > 1.79 MB

here :
https://github.com/midspace/SEToolbox/releases/tag/v1.191.20.1

edit

I just have to double click the exe when I want to use.

I used to do that too (i had toolbox on my desktop and just launched the application from there fine) but last week when toolbox was updated i can't get it to work. i have the updated version but whenever i launch it i get presented with a window saying "The space engineers application could not be located. Please specify the location of the space engineers application file".

Before i could locate it and continue to use toolbox as normal, but now whenever i locate it the button to continue refuses to work.

I really don't know why you can't :riddle:

mmm I would do a good clean up by deleting/uninstalling SEToolbox, restart PC, extract the SEToolbox.Zip and double click the exe.

If that is still not working = There is another problem that I don't know what = ??

If all is done = Backup all your SE Saves and Blueprints, uninstall SE game and delete all remaining (SE folders and files) in the Steam folder and in appdata before reinstalling SE to try SEToolbox on fresh install.

__

on my side = Steam and SE game are installed on my C: Drive (C:\Program Files (x86)\)

SEToolbox = I created a folder on my desktop, named "SEToolbox", extracted SEToolbox in it and I hit the .exe to use = It updated the first time I opened and I am able to load all my saves with.

:alert:
EDIT ^ No instalation needed > Just extract and use by double clicking SEToolbox.exe

OR

You don't have the right SE game version or something in SE is not installed properly!?

maybe try this before uninstalling SE

How to Verify integrity of game cache:

- Right click on Space Engineers in your Steam Library.
- Go to properties.
- Go to LOCAL FILES tab.
- Click Verify integrity of game cache
- When done try the game.

Might be worth uninsatalling it then running a registry cleaner to remove any old references. I use CCleaner myself for registry cleanups :)

It worked!! Thank you. I uninstalled Space engineers completely and reinstalled it onto my C drive (it was originally on my D drive). Thanks a ton!
