Anyone else having issues with steam cloud blueprints?
Hello all. I started a new world after the survival update, and didn't realize that the blueprints went to the cloud. A few days ago, I started not being able to save blueprints. I also cannot upload anything to the workshop. Workshop upload just say failed, and when I try to save a new blueprint, it doesn't show up in the list. It does create a folder with the name of the new blueprint, and a thumbnail, but thats it. I did check through all of the the subfolders for blueprints in the cloud folder, and they all only contain thumbnails, no .sbc files or anything else. I am able to download new mods and current cloud blueprints just fine without issue. I have read other threads that say just wait a bit, and steam will fix itself, but its been about a week.

So, anyone else with this issue, or some ideas? Any yes, most of the thumbnails are under 1MB. I have some blueprints that uploaded just fine to the cloud with thumbnail sizes of about 1.5MB, so thats not the issue.

Thanks for the reply. I did have both of them checked, and unchecked them. Logged out of steam and back in, and still having the same issue. Thank you for the suggestion.

At a guess you are out of space. Cloud blueprint was designed to allow a player to transfer blueprints between two or more PCs.

Try this: paste all those blueprints into a new creative world (or an old world will work too if you have a lot of mods, just turn on Creative Tools in the ALT+F10 menu). Once pasted, turn off the cloud feature in game, then create new blueprints. These will be stored in %appdata%\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints

NOTES:
1. Even though you turned the feature off, those blueprints should still be in the cloud, you just can't get to them.
2. If you turn the feature back on, you will no longer see your local blueprints. They will still be there, you can see them in Windows Explorer, you just can't access them in game.
3. You should be able to leave Steam Cloud enabled everywhere else EXCEPT in-game

This information was accurate as of v1.189. I doubt they fixed or improved it, but I could be wrong

Yep, I am in the middle of pasting those into the world to copy them to local. One question, when I go into the steam settings for space engineers, it says that I am using 88.14MB out of 293.33MB for steam cloud. Do you know if this is the space where the blueprints are stored? I do thank you for your reply, and suggestion.

I believe so, but do not know. I had similar issues a while back and the solution was to save the blueprints locally. If you need to transfer between machines you can use a thumb drive or share out the %appdata%\SpaceEngineers folder. That way you can copy saved games too, and if you use mods, the config files in the Storage folder.

Hi Guys, the cloud is the Workshop, if you publish your creations on the WS = you never lose any.

The in-game Steam cloud is not made to save your creations!

This feature is for players having 2 PCs with the same Steam account to transfer their saves to their second PC.

EDIT

This feature is OFF by default for a good reason = it gives problems if ON for no reasons.

Oh! and if you have it enabled since a long time =

you created Cloud Blueprints and we can't edit or publish those.

Solution =

You will have to disable the in-game Steam cloud and redo all your Bluerpints to create "LOCAL" ones and those we can edit.

Thank you, Dan, for your reply. The thing about the in game steam cloud is that I never enabled it to begin with. I had no idea it was a thing until I started having problems with saving blueprints. Also, I was having trouble publishing a world that I was going to send to you guys that I was having issues with, and not any blueprints. I am in the process of transferring all of those blueprints over to local. Anyway, thank you for clarifying the in-game cloud. I was a little confused about it. Have a good day, all.

I have helped 6 members having WS problems = I was not able to fix their problems and they reported on the Portal where all Testers report so you should find the report if you use the Portal search tool and see what is going on with this one. https://support.keenswh.com

I also told them, asked by the Dev, to send a Email with a short description of their WS probelm.

IF

Thumbnail is lower than 1MB
+
Cloud is OFF

and you still can't publish

=

Send a direct Email with a short desription and you may specify "Dan2D3D" sent me
