problems with drones

can anybody send me a short vid of how to build drones cause i tried to build one from some vid and did exactly what he did but i couldnt control mine from seat cause the control button for the remote was greyed out -.-

Hi, share your ship as a Blueprint so the Veterans can try and find the "Bug" for you.

for me = "I have to delete and test different concepts when it's not working"

Share more clues and Steam screenshots = it will help to see.

Drone needs =

1 - Antenna and broadcast enabled
2 - Remote control
3 - All blocks set to "ME"
4 - Hit K go to "remote access"
5 - Select your ship in the left list.
6 - Click "Control"

i dont get anything of this anymore tried another on and apparantly the thrusters work the other way arroung for some reason and weird controls can i just have like a small simple vid or something its all to hard for me to understand

Publish your save where you can't control it (greyed out) on the Workshop, tell me when ready so I can try and see what is going on.

published it but in advance i wanna say i am new to this game so i dont really know mouch so i would appreciate some explanations on how the controls work for the thrusters and stuff

I got it and here is what was wrong :

1 - Wrong thrusters used :
> Hydro Thrusters used were not powered > Hydrogen needed < O2/H2 Generator, Hydrogen tank and conveyor missing.
> Missing forward and downward Thrusters.
Better use ION thrusters for your first space ship

2 - Camera placed on the side, the green dot goes at the buttom (down side)

3 - No "Mechanic" for the Drills :
> Drills use small conveyors connected to a "Sorter block" placed on a Medium or Large container port to transfer all ores to a specific Cargo Container.
+
> That Cargo Container must have a "Connector" on large port to empty the ores to your Refinery that should also have a Connector to lock on.

I would start by making the "Mechanic" hidden in the center of the ship and add blocks as a Skin on in

but it still doesnt explain why i cant connect to the drone from the seat

Oh! thanks for specifying.

I controled from the character suit and it was working on the first try but not moving because no thrusters, but you got contoling part OK.

I have noticed that the Platform is not set to "ME", it's "Neutral" so if you tried to control your Drill ship from that seat = it will not work because it's not yours.

You have to enter the control seat, hit K to open the terminal, select all blocks and set those to "ME" and only then you will be able to use the Large station antenna to control your ship on a larger range.

Also, once you control the ship = Hit "G" key to open the block menu while controling

+ > Drag&Drop the Drill key to the remote control toolbar and add the ones needed like connector Lock/unlock, etch so you can have those keys ready to use when controling your Drone.

Add the camera to Toolbar, too!

hehe was just about to ask how to do that XD ty now i kinda know how to build a drone know thx for taking some of your time teach me how drones work :)

I am testing Drones a lot these days so I can share some good advices but I some times don't understand because English is not my first language and need the world to know what to talk about.

btw can i put something like a open cam on my drone like pressing V when using a ship or just controlling the astronaut?

No that does not work, well you need some "Magic" from Scripter/Modder, they may have shared so maybe use the WS search tool to find, you may be lucky!
