How do I disable hydrogen consumption in creative mode?
Not for the jetpack, but for ships.

You can't sadly. You have no choice but to use all 3 engines. Use atmosphere engines in thick atmosphere and then use hydrogen to exit the planet. Use ion in space.

And since you are in Creative mode just spawn in all the ice you will need using the Spawn menu.

its a little bit bs that this doesn't have a toggle when everything else does, but tbh its a good thing it runs out as opposed to being infinite. Otherwise you'd never know if a build would work in survival.

You hit the nail square on the head.

Some people use Creative to test out ideas and they don't want to put a lot of work into a "proof of concept" idea that may not pan out.

At one time you could put a thruster on over ride on a hydrogen tank, stick a seat on it and sail off into space until time itself ran out. Which made it impossible to test hydrogen systems.

Many on the forum brought this up, so Keen changed it to what it is now.

Actually, I may as well just use atmos and ion thrusters.

Or just ions, if you have enough resources for it.

What? I thought those were only viable in space?

Well, it´s true, they lose a lot of power output, the closer you get to the planet. But one of my ships in the workshop proves (or at least, it did not even a year ago. Didn´t use it for a long time, but I think it still should work) that a ship can take off from the terran planet (sea level) and travel all the way up to space JUST using ion thrusters.

It uses a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of large ions, but just so that it can carry the iron ore in its 4 large cargo containers (almost 3 million liters, don´t know how much that is in kg ingame right now, but a lot)

ps: The few atmo thrusters that can be seen are pretty much unnecessary. They just speed it up a little.

Just so you know, 1 cubic litre is also a cubic Kilogram, so there. (IRL)

but not of iron. This 1 litre = 1kg is of water. Most accurate with pure H²O, if I am not mistaken.

Oh yeah
Aren't hydrogen tanks in creative undrainable, like batteries?

WAIT.

Splitsie did a test video where he compared the lifting capabilities of various thrusters that might help you with your build.
