How to teleport?

A friend and I are playing together and we keep struggling with the problem the game FORCES us to spawn far away from each other. How can we teleport towards each other? (This happenes even when we have the same faction.)

Build a medbay, owned by one of you and shared with your faction, and then you'll both have the option to spawn there.

If you are in the same faction and have your medbays set to be shared then you should be able to suicide and spawn at the same medbay.

If you're in the same faction and spawn in space or a new ship, you cannot "teleport" or "spawn" closer together just by being in the same faction. You guys need to use medbays as suggested above or create jumpdrives to get closer to eachother with ships. You can also use the creative tools cut/paste method, but it'd be a good idea to look at a video on how to use these.
