How to paint pre-built objects/blocks
I remember sometime ago when I used to play you could paint (or re-color, however you wanna describe it) pre-built obejects and blocks. In my current playthrough (Survival) I've gotten to the stage where I wanna add some color to my base and ship, but I can't recolor the blocks with middle mouse. Have they changed how this is done? Or can it only be done on creative?

It should work... Pick a block from your toolbar e.g. light armor block. Click P to select a color. Aim the block as if you'd attach it to another block i.e. that another block turns red. Click MMB and the block turns into the color you selected. This should work... If it doesn't try exit and reload after painting. Maybe there's some glitch?

Make sure you're changing the color from the default, you have to be actively holding a placable block/object to paint, and it has to be in range of you. MMB and Shift+MMB should work like you remember.

Also if you hold Ctrl+MMB you can increase your brush size to paint more blocks faster, also good for painting blocks behind other blocks without having to move them.

Ah, I think the thing I was missing here was using another block from my toolbar to paint, thanks a lot guys.
