Sorry Jasper, I do not understand. How will flying 5k change anything? I have been flying from asteroid to asteroid over many Ks and I still hear these noises. If you could clarify what you mean that would be fabby thanks.
He means use a jump drive. It'll leave any loose debris on the ship behind when you do.
alternatively, a quick copy/paste of the ship in a new location will accomplish the same thing. Odds are you've got a loose block in there somewhere thats banging around. Gyros are bad about this as they only have one mount point and its easy to forget where you've placed them when you're making changes. Sometimes they blow up right off, but I've had them stick around for awhile before I noticed anything too.
