Liquid Water?
Obviously it was a good idea to make water frozen. So all our computers don't Explode!
But might it be possible to make Some, liqiod water? Just a Liiiittle in some places. It would help some envirnments seem less.. -Still-
And the water wouldn't have to stay perminantly. Maybe it spawns in some places, and just, disapears slowly. A mine could have a wet floor, puddle, or chamber, but it won't keep piling up.

They could have rain maybe with some puddle decals. But standing bodies of water are pretty much a no go from what the devs have said :(

physic volummetric water is not possible, unless you buy 10 Titan V for everyone

Sorry but > There are no plans to implement (liquid) water of any kind in Space Engineers.

So you'll have to ask a modder to do this or something similar to water.
(water block maybe > like in ME).

there was a great water mod back in dx9 times. it was projecting a water-texture as a large
sphere. when put that block on a rotor, you had a streaming water animation.
unfortunaly that mod doesnt exist anymore and no one ported it to dx11 -_-

As much as I understand that actual water would melt the game, I hope some modders do decorative things after the game is stable.

We have enough issues with wheels though. I imagine boats in the water would crash everything

water water everywere...

okay.. i will be polite this time.

the only use of "liquid" water right now is purely decorative...

if someone manages to add a liquid water texture above the ice lakes and maintain them there this would not require much resources, am i right?

i have absolutely no arguments against optical liquid water... but real liquids are impossible for the actual engine...

regards

Mr. Eskimo, perhaps you should add the word "decorative" to your thread title, since that seems to be the only part of any post that most forum denizens read.
Liquid water specifically strikes me as more of a SE2 kind of thing. Like, it's 2025, SE1 and ME's production is complete, Keen has larger and more experienced staff, and modder collaboration has produced a widely enjoyed and understood experience to build on. This would be the time to start on a game with even more extensive simulation, including liquid water. This assumes that the triple-A bubble's bursting doesn't burn all the investment going into desktop and console hardware, which might be overly optimistic.

I thought of a way to do this, sorta, but it would be so janky looking and semi-functional that it would be.....well fn stupid lol.

It would be very difficult. Imagine trying to model in proper flooding physics for a hull breach. You add physics based water, people are going to want to go underwater. To have unscripted underwater scenes... it'd be damn near impossible. You have to have the water part to avoid entering the ship (even if it's just visually), and to have good flooding physics... yeah

I... Hope to make this clearer. I'm imagining water being Totally restricted to deep mines on planets. And it only interacts with the land envirnment. And it's limited in how much there is, like a few small puddles. It likely wouldnt require much processing power, and the water despawns. It would likely spawn from random rock sections.

It couldn't be used in engineering, and just makes mining more intersting then, looking at rock forever. Mining is hard to do and boring to do. There's nothing to look at except rock.
C'mon, even Minecraft has water...
But seriously, I want NPCs, smart enemies who can fly my ship and be like a walking PB, with sensors, and fight/flee/take cover mechanics. Wasn't there an AI company working on all that?

@op, I really like the idea of water and love water aswell but i know it's just not possible with the current game engine. So instead i like to simulate it with projectors etc. and mods. I love roleplaying in this game and i build my worlds as good as possible, here some screenshots of what you can do. it's not like real water offcourse but the result is really nice imo.
