how to switch from large block to small block

hey, its been a while, decided to play this again, trying to start making a small rover, now I remember you could just click an icon to select small or large grid sizes, but thats gone.

According to options the key is "r" to switch between grid sizes, but it doesnt seem to be doing anything for me.
