Reset spectator cam?
This just irks me. Spectator cam periodicly breaks and starts to drift constantly in one direction or another regardless of what keys are pressed.
It can also become heavy and slugish being very hard to turn it.

The only keys relating to it I am aware of are Alt+space, f9, f8, f7 and f6 none of which have any impact on this problem even f6 as the location drifting of spectator cam continues even when it isnt in use X.x

So is there any way to forcefully reset the spectator cam velocity and position other than restarting the game? Reloading alone doesn't work so it's a pain in the tail end every time this happens v.v

Last time I had something like this happen in a game it was caused by the analog sticks of my gamepad.
Are you shure it is not something similar?

Nothing but keyboard and mouse connected to my computer

Press f6 to return to character
Press f7 to control character while remaining in spectator
Press f8 to enter spectator

All of these need space master in order to work
If soacemaster is not enabled, press alt+f10 ( I think ) and enable it.
Or you can go and press "return to player" in alt+f10

Or if your on a wireless mouse/keyboard setup change your batteries?

They arent wireless.
It also cant be to do with inputs
It only impacts spectator cam and it impacts spectator cams position even when spectator cam isnt active.

shift + Middle mouse button matches the speed of a targeted object in spectator mode. sometimes when you change view, the camera is still moving and you have to press shift + MMB again
could be this maybe?

Doubleful, but at least that is a button I didn't know
The speed the camera can move at can be well over the maximum speed allowable by the physics engin. Right now is it....894000... s? what the heck distant unit is s?
well it salmost 900000s away from my ship

I supose it is ment to be m/s just overlayed by that large number.
Regardles that devinately sounds like some sort of bug and should not happen.
I gues you have to make a Bug-Report for that one.

Shift + MMB... So THAT'S why my spectator camera keeps slowly drifting away while trying to build a tank...

I had drifting in F8 cam (spectator view) and it turned out to be a gravity generator I left on. The grid was originally on an asteroid and I spawned it on Earth. It caused conflicting fields.
