Programs use as much of what you have as they need.
So if its only using 2gb of your avalible 8gb then it dosent need more.
It will use more the more creations and things you have it the world.
So you cant "add ram to games" they simply use what they need and if they max out whats in your system then you add more to the comuter itself ;)
I know. But you can allocate ram to a game. It works for many games
Ahh im unaware of this, as i understood its just used as needed. SE uses up to 4gb of my ram depending on what i have loaded in the game world :)
Operating systems allocate memory to applications only when the application requests it and only if memory is available. If the system runs out of memory and cannot meet the application's request, it is up to the application designer to handle this appropriately.
The only thing you can do is to install the required memory on the Store Page.
Windows needs 2 gb RAM so all you have left will be used for the game.
For me the game never uses more than 4 Gb RAM in my HUGE worlds ONLY = must have A Lot in the world to use 4Gb RAM.
This way you will use all your memory
Seems not to be a problem for you.

In game log file memory used =
GC Memory: 2,060,277,824 B
Up to
GC Memory: 3,750,855,480 B
Hit ''Shift + F11'' to see the game stats on screen :

Try this ^^ world >> add more ships/stations to it and you should see more memory used the more you add to the world.
