Drone remote distance
I made a drone, from small cubes...
But i flew with that and after 0.5 km I lost connection with grid... Will laser antenna make remote distancen higher?

You can get greater distances with radio antenna, I believe. (I don't think 500m is the maximum for small grid antenna, I think it's higher.) You just need to go into your control panel and increase the range.

Edit: just checked. Max range on a small grid antenna is 5km. It's set to 500m by default.

Correct you can get much more range with a radio antenna (50km), on small ships that range is 5km. Laser antennas have a small range and are point to point (not omni-directional). In multiplayer this could have some strategic purpose. In my opinion in single player survival they are pretty useless, although they have a nice look and I use them for aesthetic reasons.

I´ve just tryed incrase distance but it didnt helped i allways lost connection after small distance

Your personal radio range is always 0.5 kilometers iirc. If you want to control something further, you'll need a larger antenna to relay the signal. Just sit inside your main ship and use its antenna to control the drone.

Personal radio range is 200m, I think, but you're right. Though this may be a small ship to small ship scenario.

Are you controlling your drone from the cockpit of another ship? If so, you'll need to increase the range of the antenna on the ship you're piloting from, too.

I increased my antena distance on both ships
I forgot to mention, make sure you aren't redlining your power. I don't think thrusters are supposed to be able to hog all the amperage (thx wikipedia!) from the antenna, but you never know what SE will throw at you. It's not much fun to find out such things the hard way, either. It's good design practice for a ship to move forward, sideways, and up without maxing out her power grid.

So, you think another small reactor will help? Maybe here is the problem, good tip.. Im gonna try it :) THANKS

your antenna range can be boosted at the cost of more reactor power!, you can boost to 5 km on small grids and 10km or greater on large grids. remember tweek your antenna on both ships!
