How big can my ship be?
Hello, just wondering how big my ship can be before the game crashes? I wish it were like minecraft where there is no limit on size.

The size limit is far larger than is practical for a survival game, even at maxed-out slider values. You might peruse the workshop for an idea of how big ships can get.

It all depends on your rig, but I've had builds in the 85k-90k block range. My station is a couple hundred meters long, and I have a super capital class ship attached to that right now that's even bigger.

Yes. I think the hard limit is something like 600,000 blocks.

On comparing to Minecraft: MC has chunk unloading, where SE does not (I believe). MC with redstone/minecarts doesn't work well if they are 128 or so blocks away from a player.

girls like small things, too. (you can everything do with it...) but it needs a nice package.

I maxed out my ship at 140k blocks. Reached the shape the limit. I have another ship at 89k blocks. 30k away from the shape limit. Shape limit is around 62k. Go to info panel and look for shape limit. I was working on my 300k block ship until I ran into the shape limit error, when placing a block. Had to rebuild the ship.....

yeah SE works a lot differently than minecraft in this regard, each ship takes up its own resources on your PC based on size and velocity calculations. a 3x3x3 ship for example, would take very little as its very small size and even capped at 100m/s top speed, it'd load and calculate with ease.

but when you get into the mega builds that are over 100k blocks for 1 ship your running into a ship thats gonna take a lot to process when it starts moving. not to mention that will be one massive ship to render.

Like Van said > The limit is huge, very huge and more than absurdly big.

I'll recommend no more than 90 000 blocks < that is already an absurdly big build.

i make one real big, like 280 block longer, but cant move any more, i have cut a big part :)) and i make that on survive, 7 weeks to build
