Or how many gatlings the enemy ship had?
Have some decoys behind armour away from critical systems, then have welders right behind them pointing at the decoys. Then as they are damaged they reweld. Even place a projection of each decoy there aswell so if it is completly destroyed a new one will be welded.
You can launch decoys aswell with welder projector systems. So you would have a merge with a decoy each side as a seperat little blueprint. Project that onto a merge block on the ships hull then disconnect it at speed and slow down. Or you can add an arti mass to the decoy blueprint and use a grav field to push it away from the ship :)

Decoys wont do much for my problem, cutting my ships apart with the non-turret gatling. I tend to avoid mods as well other than the speed one so it honestly is just its base stats that seem high to me.
Learning about my creations and durability by attacking them now, but man, gatlings... ;;
Ahh yeah sorry you clearly said gattling guns, for some reason my brain instantly though of turred defence lol
It is a lil odd that gats are getting through heavy armour so quick. I remember it being a lot slower than that aswell :)
granted its like, 30 or so small block gatlings on a advanced rotor for full covereage but yeah.
Iv been working on some small grid turrets for one of my ships to replace the vanilla ones. Im thinkin of just doing gats because every time i use reloadable launchers i gotta have the huuuuuuuge cargo container, so i can conveyor it in, and it looks too chunky :(

Wow grav guns, thats a blast from the past. So easily defeated, and mostly useless on 99% of the servers where max item count is any kind of reasonable number.
A single sphericla grav gen pushes it away unless its perfectly targetted, and then it just bounces off anyway.
Battery and timer on the round. Dissable arti mass/spaceball 5 seconds (500m) after launch. Grav shields negated :)
