Copy paste ships in survival?
Hi!
I still don't own SE yet but have read so much about exploding pistons and rotators, so I need to ask.
I'm planning to put up a dedicated server for me and some friends.

If a ship for example, explodes for no reason high up in the sky and falls down and gets completely destroyed.
Is it possible to copy paste in a new one from a blueprint?

We are gonna play on survival and if I have understood how blueprints work then you need all the materials for the complete ship and weld every block again. This is a tedious and frustrating process in case the ship blew up for no reason. Or vanished in space, since that also seems possible.

Thanks in advance!

You can only use copy/paste in creative. So you will need to make projector and begin welding again. Hope you got the asnwer :)

Hey Zef, yes it is possible to paste in a ship in survival mode.

Admins on the server have access to creative mode tools. They can press ALT F10 to open the admin tools menu, and check the box labelled "Enable Creative Mode Tools"

After that, they can press F10 to open the blueprints menu, and anything in their blueprints menu they can paste in the same as in creative mode.

Good luck, and welcome to Space Engineers! ...if you do decide to buy anyhow =)

Dedendz is correct, you can indeed paste using those methods in survival. Though if you want a real challenge, you should try using a projector block! Then you can build ships from blueprints. It's quite satisfying.

I did not know about the ALT F10 menu. Ignore my first post.

Nice! Thanks!
Then it's not that big of a deal if the ship bugs out.

Yeah! Of course we are gonna use projectors. But not when the ship blew up/vanished for no reason.
