How to start a new ship now?

Ive not played the game for about a year, The way i used to start building a ship seems to have changed, pressgin G and selecintg new ship is gone. How do I do it now?

just place blocks

Press G, select the landing gear.

It may start out on the large grid variant, press that number again to switch to the small grid variant (this applies to all blocks)

Oh, if you get fed up with blocks rotating out of orientations you set them to, select a block, aim at a grid, and press T to disable the auto-block rotation. This needs to be done after every time you load a world.
