Pirate stations?
Eh so what is the deal with them? If you are suppose to only engage them, when your ship is much more powerful, how come my little lifeboat ship that just has a few thrusters found one?
So even though it might have meant instant death, I went for it. I went as fast as I could with my little ship to the station. Somehow I didn't get killed. I land on the station, only to find out that my lazer weapon is causing damage, but looks like it is hitting shields?

I was hoping I could bust my way in, and take over the station for myself.

Anyway I shot at walls glass whatever, to try to make a opening. Shields sprung up, but I'm not sure if you can penetrate these shields?

I was looking for another way in, when one of the lazers from their ship one shot me, and I don't even know where the enemy fire was coming from?

If this is too hard to do at the start of the game, ok. Yet then you shouldn't be allowed to engage these ships until your ship or weapons are much more powerful to take on something like this.

Again this game has a-lot of potential, but despite it's huge openenss. Series of other issues.

The galaxy map is hard to dictate clearly a set route to a particular star.

It is also kinda very confusing, as you enter a new star system, and whatever one your in is highlighted, but you can't tell for sure based on the system layout if you are at a particular star, since a bunch of other stars and other stuff are in this mess called a map.

I like the open endedness where you can go almost anywhere, but a-lot of worlds just seem dead. Again when you encounter another faction, and want to try to take what they have, the weapons you have seem very puny against what they got.

I have found a few derelict stations. Since most of what I can take is scrap, not sure the uesefulness of them?

Again this game seems to have a-lot of potential, but though the bare bones schema seems very very good, there isn't enough meat yet, (missions, meeting new races, general aim)

Most gamer these days are used to play games on rails. If there is no rail to stick to they get lost and complain. You don´t have do fight pirate stations. You can set a waypoint with the map to avoid any danger of encountering them. The map works great. Problems aren`t alwayes caused by the software but by the person in front of the pc.
You answered this question yourself...you tried to fight a station in a "life boat" Does that seeem like a smart idea to you?

FFS you never play a game with world bosses or you only play instanced, rail, thempark games?

The way to handle this is to derp out a better ship....:plane:

This heavy fighter was able to down a red station in less than 85 seconds...I did not need a super carrier dreadnaught or anything of that level..
I lost a half dozen armor plates but thats about it.

You kids are expecting to fight bosses at level 1...and then you blame the game...
FOR SHAME! lol

The map is easy to use. It highlights your currently occupied sector. It should flash yellow. You can hit the plot path to current button to set a waypoint with a direct line between you and the designated sector. It will then show up on your hud. You can set coordinates in the (N)av menu.

Galactic north is on the map and is designated by a large arrow on the top of the screen. Pressing C while flying aligns you to galactic north. Now you have bearings.

Pirate stations are procedurally generated randomly and will be refined over time. They were only recently added. You stated it yourself that it was a bad idea to go attack them then you complained about how they killed you and how you shouldn't be seeing them yet. That's not the games fault. You recognized the danger and took the risk. Pirate stations will spawn pirates when they are under attack and that is likely what killed you.
Or you build a small turret and click on attack rockets and your save from the one hit missiles when your distance is not so far.
I am so baffled. You are saying the game is flawed because you died around something that is SUPPOSED to try to kill you? A lot of what you are saying i covered directly in the patch notes also. Which you should read on EVERY game you play. Everything about your post is under educated and naive in my personal opinion. Watch a tutorial buddy, they cover a lot.

If this was WoW and you were complaining that you could not Drop the Lich King at level 4, you would be brought out back and executed.

Hehe. *holds a sign there stands* No more Creepers... they always kill us
I don't know what you're complaining about? I've never had any problems with pirate stations. #DreadnoughtCaptain. Seriously, though, The old stations were a piece of cake. all you needed was to get to the center, then manually enter and disable each turret. These new stations, though... They're scary even for my Frigate. The most damage my Dreadnought has taken from one is the Pirate Station Alpha, which did %5 damage to my shields, an would have done more if I didn't have quick weapons.
Also, if you want to build huge ships, learn how to use the chat commands. You can give yourself massive amounts of money and blocks, and get back at those pesky pirates. It's like creative mode, only with more searching for Block IDs.

Forget block ids. Make shops infinite and give yourself tons of money. Never search for an ID again that way.

#DreadnaughtCaptain in this context has to be the best hash tag I've ever seen.
I know. It's not the biggest or best ship compared to what the rest of the community has to offer, but it's pretty good. I can post exact specs if you want, but I'm always improving.
