FFS you never play a game with world bosses or you only play instanced, rail, thempark games?
The way to handle this is to derp out a better ship....

This heavy fighter was able to down a red station in less than 85 seconds...I did not need a super carrier dreadnaught or anything of that level..
I lost a half dozen armor plates but thats about it.
You kids are expecting to fight bosses at level 1...and then you blame the game...
FOR SHAME! lol
Galactic north is on the map and is designated by a large arrow on the top of the screen. Pressing C while flying aligns you to galactic north. Now you have bearings.
Pirate stations are procedurally generated randomly and will be refined over time. They were only recently added. You stated it yourself that it was a bad idea to go attack them then you complained about how they killed you and how you shouldn't be seeing them yet. That's not the games fault. You recognized the danger and took the risk. Pirate stations will spawn pirates when they are under attack and that is likely what killed you.
If this was WoW and you were complaining that you could not Drop the Lich King at level 4, you would be brought out back and executed.
#DreadnaughtCaptain in this context has to be the best hash tag I've ever seen.
