or you can pay for a onlienserver where you then must make the correct settings that only your friend cna come on the server
Library right click starmade / properties /click on top the tab local files and then browse local files/ starmade folder and open StarMade-dedicated-server-windows.bat (the window who open up is your server dont close it)
Start starmade chose online play below go to Manual Server Entry type localhost:4242 and connect.
and now i stuck. The https://www.whatismyip.com/ serviuces only show the IPv6 not the IPv4 in my case. I am not sure if you can use the IPv6 too.
Normal you become an IPv4 adress and this adress you give your friends with :4242 on end.
On your Router you must portforward Port 4242 and your friends can play on your server.
before you start the server you must configure the server.cfg and much more. Help you can find here :
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?l=german&id=354703588
and dont forget to save the server ingame as admin before you close the serverwindow.
but if you then stop playing the friend cant play further
Edit : When i see your profil it looks like you must read this and it can help :
Have you installed java ?
Have you an laptop or mac or all in one pc (only with intel graphiccard) ? Then you need JDK not only JRE java.
Install it and it run:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html
If you have another graphics-card in your computer, tell your computer to execute java via GPU only. (In the case of NVidia cards you can do this in the "NVidia Control center")
Adding "javaw.exe" to program list in control center and setting it to 'GPU only' usually fixes it,
This is the 'power saving GPU' that may have issues with full GL support and may cause the shaders to crash on startup.
or deinstall the game and install the beta launcher with integrated java
Thats to 90 % the problem
