Any chance of a Death Star style Combination Beam weapon?
In which multiple beams fired towards each other charge up before firing a bigger beam? With the size and power of the final beam being dependant on how many sub beams are being merged. Or perhaps some other form of large scale combination weapon, like perhaps a central part that would gather energy, and sub parts that would supply it, with the energy from the sub parts forming a energy whirlpool gathering to the primary part, and when all the energy was drained from the sub parts the main part would fire a huge blast formed from the gathered power.

Ah well, I shall keep my fingers crossed something like that gets added.

I have always been a huge fan of the effect where a giant sci-fi cannon or weapon gathers energy to one point, then fires a huge blast.

For the sake of not cramping creativity, I doubt they'll ever add a projection weapon that has to use a specific shape to get the most out of it. (Like the dish and however many lasers are around it on the Death Star) The confines of requiring specific shapes are half the reason the power 2.0 update was released, after all.

However, with some logical magic, these kinds of visual effects are totally doable in the game's current iteration. The more I think about it, the more I think you can make a visual charging effect on a ship look really cool. There are some pretty good tutorials on youtube for Starmade's logic blocks, and I could probably show you how on a multiplayer server if youtube can't satisfy.
My thanks for the offer, but I think I shall wait to play the game when it comes out of Early Access, at that point I shall likely look more into how to accomplish that means of effect, if something like it isn't in the base game.

Also I wasn't thinking of a specific shape for the lasers and such, in what I was thinking you could basically have any shape you liked so long as all the beams intersected with the central energy collection point, or possibly not even have them intersect at all normally and have them swirl in twoards that center point like a whirlpool of energy, with the lasers forming spirals towards a center.

At any rate, once the game has it's official release I shall then give things a try.
