I have always been a huge fan of the effect where a giant sci-fi cannon or weapon gathers energy to one point, then fires a huge blast.
Also I wasn't thinking of a specific shape for the lasers and such, in what I was thinking you could basically have any shape you liked so long as all the beams intersected with the central energy collection point, or possibly not even have them intersect at all normally and have them swirl in twoards that center point like a whirlpool of energy, with the lasers forming spirals towards a center.
At any rate, once the game has it's official release I shall then give things a try.
