please put the MP bugs and issues to the forefront... i dont care about new features, camo, etc. i just want to play!
Multiplayer DOES indeed work, I play it daily. Yes there is trouble viewing other lobbies, again it is being investigated. If you are having a hard time finding a game join the chat room and ask around for now.
This is exactly what Early Access is for, we are here to fix these issues, be patient.
I do not have an ETA on the lobby bug, nor do I have the full scale of the patch notes, Instinct will post the patch notes tomorrow.
Every day I play and every time I run into people who are complaining and talking about quitting multiplayer because they think no one is playing it. Only the most informed players who visit the forum every day know that the lobby is bugged and know that you can use chat to look for games.
Mutliplayer does not work. When 75% of the time I log on and can not see any servers that is not a working multiplayer. Yes i Have managed to play quite a few games, but only by being extremely patient and spending lots of time waiting. Even still I can only ever get a game during certain times of the day. How many new players to the series are going to be this patient? Especially if they do not know that the lobby is bugged? What happens when a new player clicks matchmaking and nothing happens?
This should be priority number 1 to fix as the damage it is doing to the community is enourmous. It is hard to ask for patience when a nearly game breaking bug has been present for so long now, and we are getting patches that do not even address it. Who is spending time making 1.4 gigs of changes while this bug is still present?
At the very least you need to be doing something to make people aware of this bug and let them know that you are trying to fix it. Make it a sticky or even better put a message in the game. If things continue as they are by the time you fix it there will be no one left to play with.
Please. You guys have made such a great game. Do not let this kill the community.
Maybe next time you guys could post something about an update that big BEFORE you send it out?
But I can see where some people are coming from.
Bit of empathy might go a long way.
I don't think ragga meant anything by that, he was just stating a point that wargame multi works for him. He did himself say that the game was not better but different.
I understand your issues guys and i'm gonna say sorry from a loyal veteran fan to the game.. i'll say what DMS cannot. If you can please wait a bit longer, I'm sure they will fix this.. Also I continuly man the lobby to advise people of this bug.. I also wish there was a sticky to let those know about the issue, and that dms advised taht they considered adding a pop up in the lobby, but then said they could not because it will detract from the work of fixing the main problems. Also I'd like to say to those that cannot find games that's strange that you can't find games..maybe it's the time you are looking? For me i know the time I am looking there is no games. But I am sure some people have an easier time. Sorry for that was well. It will probaly get better guys i hope you stick around. Thanks for your support.
To be fair, I didn't buy into early access. The game was changed to early access the day before it was due to be released. I love the game but there are too many crashes.
If someone bought MOWAS2 now in early access, having read all the disclaimers about what early access means in terms of quality and stability, then I'd support you telling people to be patient and reminding them that this is early access.
As it stands, a lot of people like myself didn't agree to fund the ongoing development of the game. We preorded. There are lots of games in early access that I am interested in but am not ready to buy because I know they're not finished yet and would rather wait. However when I preorder a game, I trust that it will be delivered in full on the agreed date, my money certainly trickle through to you in small chunks, with no clear date on when it would all arrive.
I supported your first decision to delay the game. I can understand how some unforeseen incident or process could interfere with a scheduled date and thought nothing of it. I got to sample the game in the Beta content, believing that 2 weeks later, I would have all of the game.
Changing the game to early access has done nothing but withdraw the need for you to give a release date. It sets a bad precedent. I would like to think that Steam will discourage other developers from doing the same.
Has the bug been in since beta? I know at points it searches and doesnt find a single server. Most times it finds 2-3 games. I assume now that there actually a lot more players out there!?
This is a huge problem for certain players. For people who live in North America or really anywhere outside of Europe seeing even 1 game in the lobby is rare unless it is primtime for your area code.
I find it frustrating that DMS does not seem to think this is a "main problem" and thinks that multiplayer "does work". I hate posting so much, but I really feel like the development team does not understand how big of an issue this is because of how long they have let it go on and how little information they give on it.
Locking as this has derailed so far.
