MOW II: Arena is out in CBT now

For all the folks that don't know but might be curious.

-The minimal price for a copy of a game is 13$/12€. The more pricey version gives you exactly the same units as the basic one just in higher quantity. You can buy more of those units later in-game with your battle rewards so there is no worry that people with bigger wallets get something no one else can.

- Game has only German and Russian forces for now, but the ammount of units and battalions provides a lot of content. The gameplay itself is a mix of good old men of war with steel division. You can pick from different battalions that work kind of like decks that restrict what you can have inside and modify them to your liking with units that you unlock as your gain experience in battles.

- Paywall - initially when I bought the game I was very concerned with the paywall acusations and the ammount of grind behind which the content might be hidden, but honestly so far everything seems to be fair and balanced. From what I am seeing in the game as of now there is no content that can be bought exclusively with money and the unlockables grind doesn't feel overly extreme. It would definately take a lot of time to unlock all of the units and battalions for both Russians and Germans but its nowhere near the level of WT or WoT. It's also not always assured that new units are definately better than the more basic ones as usually they take more space and you can fit less of them in your deck.

- Community: so far its pretty small, mostly Russians, it would be nice to get more people speaking english but the level of cooperation between players right now is surprisingly decent. On average the queue waiting time is between 2-7 minutes.

- Single player - I wouldn't advice anyone buying the game just for the single player mode. Right now its pretty much non-existent, its pretty clear that game is based around PvP mode, and I doubt single player will ever get much of a polish.

- There is no tutorial so figuring out how the interface and battalions/tech trees work takes some time.

I will wait for GOH... what I saw did not convince me in term of combat, it looks like vanilla mow jut the interface is diferrent and there is this frontline rippof from steel division and doesn't work at all with the scale of the game.

Unlocks in an RTS is pure unmitigated cancer. Which is a shame because the game itself does make a lot of improvements to the general feel of MoW. Just wait for it to flop like CtA's F2P and maybe, just maybe, they'll pull their heads out of their asses and release an actual game with these improvements instead of trying to scam and nickle and dime us with some greedy ass F2P scheme.
