Print or write down all the control shortcuts and learn how to use them. Learn how to gather everything from corpses, vehicles, and crates. Just starting out I'd play the first single player mission on the easiest setting and just learn how to use and do everything. Once you are comfortable with how to play go back and start again on the Hard level. Heroic seems to be really hard but if you are adventerous then get to it.

Once an area is cleared go around and collect everything you can collect. Ammo, smoke, grenades, exchange weapons if needed. For instance when playing as the US I don't think there is an AT-Rifle so when you kill an enemy that has this you should equip one of your guys with it and load up on all the available ammo for it. It is not only good for AT duty. It is a somewhat high powered sniper weapon (sort of) as well. It's worth picking up though. As you learn the various weapons you'll figure out which others are worth picking up and collecting ammo for.

Avoid head on engagements with Tigers. I generally have 6-10 AT crews with bazookas hidden across the front and a few in reserve back a ways to get hits on or take out enemy tanks before they even get close enough to destroy mine. On the Hard level I've found sometimes you can lose 3-4 AT crews very quickly, leaving a gaping hole in your defense. AT grenades work well if you can get in range before dying. Keep plenty of AT spread out along the front though.

I also use as many AT guns as I can buy. Much cheaper than tanks.

And...use smoke. If you have a tank that can be repaired but is under enemy fire toss some smoke to obscure it and get to repairing it. Smoke is almost always overlooked in FPS games and in this game. It works, use it. If in real trouble toss 4-5 smoke grenades and get out of town!

I had generally given up on third person games long ago but I am very glad I gave this game a try. WELL worth whatever you pay for it. It's well done and sometimes gets mezmerizing watching a battle take place.
