Maximum 30FPS?

As long as Vsync is on, it doesn't matter what quality level you set it at, it seems to be maxing out at 30FPS. Anyone else getting this? Far Cry 3 max settings 50-60FPS ;) Surely I can run this game past 30FPS. Is this bothering anyone else? Is there some sort of cap?

If you have Vsync on, the game is probably going to 30FPS because in reality you are under 60FPS uncapped. Try forcing Triple Buffering with D3DOverider and see if it shoots up to 45-50 or so

I really don't know about that. I always have Vsync on because I hate screen tearing. Every game with max settings gives me 50-60fps. Crysis 2 does this thing where it caps the framerate at 30 for some odd reason. But if I take fullscreen off, it goes to 60. Real Myst Masterpiece edition shouldn't be at 30fps. There's something obviously wrong. Vsync syncs to your monitor's refresh rate, in my case, it's 60. The game doesn't go beyond 30fps.

Yes. But if you cannot Maintain a constant 60FPS with Double buffered Vsync, it automatically drops to the nearest even multiple of your Refresh.

Hence if you are only able to maintain 50FPS without Vsync on, turning on Vsync will automatically limit you to a maximum of 30.

Most games use Double buffered vsync and this is expected behavior.

Well I played a little further into the game and it went above 30fps, so at least it's not locked. I don't know what made it change. The only thing I adjusted was turned Vsync to Always On instead of On Unless Application specifies.
