how do i use the pages?

i cant figure out how to put the pages in my inventory. i got achenar's blue page in my hand, but i cant pick up sirrus' red page without the blue one magically telipoting back to achnar's room in stoneship, an i dont exactly want to revisit that freak's room. *shudder*

This are special pages : you can't have more than one at once (maybe they are too heavy ?). So yes you have to do twice each age if you want both pages.

that's not how it worked in every singal other version of the game, which i have in fact played. It makes no sense to have to revisit an age twice in this version.

Not sure if you mean the sequels (which don't have pages to collect) or the other versions of Myst (which worked exactly the same as this one.)
Either way, tt's not exactly hard to backtrack for the other page after you've solved all the puzzles. In fact, I think Selenitic is the only age it takes more than two minutes to redo.

i meant the other myst versions. i know for a fact that they had a way to hold both pages, because i saw a playthrough where the guy had both and put them in the books both at once.

You're gonna have to provide some proof, then. AFAIK every version of Myst only allows you to hold a single page at a time. It was true for the original version back in 1993 and it is true for the realMyst of 2014.

He/She is right. in EVERY version of Myst, you can only hold ONE page at a time. It's part of the mechanic of the game.
