Stuck in Channelwood Age
I'm supposed to get electricity to the elevators, but thing is, when I send the waterflow to an elevator, and I get in it to hopefully go up, it won't. I can even hear the device powering up the elevator, but when I pull the switch, it won't move. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do, could be a glitch, I don't know.

Did you close the door before trying to go up?

Of course you have to close the door. I'm used to elevators closing the doors on themselves. Thanks

You are welcome. I think Atrus got tired of all the construction and decided to be just a little lazier when it came to have auto-closing doors.

Seems to be a bit of an a-hole to be honest, since his thanks for freeing him is full access to all ages you already had access to, and another puzzle, which isn't that hard.

He does a bit more for you than that, in the sequal Riven he lets you get trapped in another age sepparate from the previous of the ages.

Noticed that, leaves you clueless too apparently.

Well he leaves you with a few clues, just the sort of clues that lead to more questions than answers though. Still very much my favorite game in the series.

I think it will be mine as well, but I have no idea what I'm supposed to do atm, can't even save.

First big puzzle in the game is figuring out what you are supposed to do and what is going on. Which game are you having trouble saving, the realMyst or Riven? Could you describe in the depth the problem, can you get to the save'/load and it is just not working or are you unable to reach that?

Can't save in Riven, I found the "Files Transitions etc." tabs, under files I found save and whatever, first time I tried to save, a window showed up, but then it wouldn't be able to save, looked up the issue, said I should try different compatibility things, now the window won't even show up.

List the compatibility options you have tried. Did you limit the game to one processor? Unfortunately the steam version of Riven is in need of an update, it sounds like the gog version works better.

Got the Steam version, because Steam has vouchers, only way for me to buy stuff. And I solved the saving issue, the file is *.rvn so I assume the asterisk was supposed to be included, but apparently it's not supposed to be included, so yeah.

Good to hear. Let me know if you have any further technical issues. Good news about Riven, the elevators close their doors on their own. Of course the elevators were designed by someone besides Atrus so that might be why.

Not knowing what to do usually pushes me away from a game, but knowing that the elevators close their doors on their own makes me want to play it
