Lost then found: missing lock/key

I ran around to get the achievements I'd missed playing through, and was not able to get one. Supposedly, if I go to the bottom of the lighthouse in the Stoneship Age after unlocking the trapdoor, the lock and key are supposed to be down there on the floor. I swear, they aren't. Has anyone else had this happen? Is there some way I could just be missing them? (Not like there's much down there for things to hide behind, but hey, it's possible.)

I've heard of this bug before. The only workaround seems to be to validate game files, then create a new game and just go straight to Stoneship to unlock the achievement.

I had the same bug, too, although I ran into on accident. I just remembered that even the original Myst showed the lock at the bottom after unlocking the trapdoor, so I went down to see and it was't there. When I started a new game to look for achievements I'd missed, it didn't disappear, and I got the achievement.

Just completed StoneShip Age and no achievement was given. I saw an earlier post stating that the only fix was to start a new game and resolve the Age from a save(?) or maybe I misinterpreted...I saw the post was from 2015 (with the latest other comments coming in 2016), has anyone else (more recently) run into this issue and what's the fix? Is it some type of restart or the age (delete saved completed Age and then restart that particular age anew)?

You actually have to start a completely new game and go right to Stoneship. It shouldn't really take more than a few minutes if you know what to do.
