Why was this game not successful?
I've seen a lot of jokes about this game's failure and now I'm curious to know what happened (I admit I haven't played it).

I know there was a controversy with Helldivers 2 and the requirement to use a PSN account after launch and this game has had this requirement since the beginning. Could this be a reason for the failure?

Is the game bad? Is the game good but are there better alternatives on the market?

This horse was punched to death already. It's painfully obvious why this flopped. It is worse than all of its competitors in every aspect, but it is also more expensive than its competitors and it is made for a tiny fraction of the audience its competitors are made for.

Ugly af characters, pronouns, looks generic af, Sony acc required, Sweet Baby touch... we all knew it will fail since the first trailer.

To be honest, the trailers seem to have interesting gameplay, but I'm not going to pay R$200 (Brazilian currency) for a Game as a Service. Honestly, I don't give a cent to GaaS.

This game is too woke for me honestly

This game didn't fail because of the required PlayStation account but for other reasons; if you want to find out, Google is your friend. However, the pointless complaints about needing a PSN account no longer hold up, because many titles here require a mandatory Ubisoft account, an EA account, and even an Epic Games account, yet I've never heard any complaints about those, strangely enough. The PC community is really too strange and ambiguous.

Don't want any type of modern day politics and ideologies in my entertainment, Also has the ugliest characters i've seen in a long time, among many other issues that have been said here thousands of times.

I'd rather hear from the players themselves than use Google. However, if you're not interested in contributing to the discussion, feel free to leave.

woke DEI political correctness agenda for me.

if someone makes a good game I'll buy it even if there's a hundred of the same genre free to play out there, I bought helldivers for $40, I'm buying space marine 2 in a few days, I paid thousands of dollars on cosmetic items in dota 2, yet I spent 0 dollars on my 200 hours of apex.

PSN means nothing to me, I own every playstation system and have multiple accounts.

The PC community is the only platform with some standards that don't spread their cheeks every time a company comes with some new BS, although it can be inconsistent at times.

So far, most people seem to be saying that the problem is that the game is "woke".

To these same people I ask: Do you think it is possible for a game to be good and "woke" at the same time, or if it has any element considered woke, do you automatically consider it bad?

a good game can be injected with woke agenda, and I wouldn't buy it but definitely play it using other means.

Problem with 'woke' is it's inauthenticity. Most of it is horrid tokenism resulting in artificial diversity while using stereotypes for representation which is incredibly dumb and disrespectful.

Their ideologies are usually way too forced and racist either intended or unintended as they exclude other races like white or asians and like to exclude cis males. It's generally really in your face destroying any type of escapism. Nobody sane wants to see this.

Another thing is they take character designs matters in their own hands with them hating on ''unrealistic'' beauty standards. Anything feminine, beautiful or something with sex appeal basically gets yeeted or made ugly as they basically say beautiful people don't exist. Very likely because of jealousy and hate for something they couldn't be.

A good example of 'woke elements' in games are baldur's gate 3
It gives you the full freedom to choose your political alignments, body types and sexual orientations. Has no limits to romances and no pronouns. Doesn't force you into anything and there's no 'messages' or blatant escapism breaking moments and has natural diversity without destroying beauty.

Another one is Cyberpunk2077 where the diversity is very natural and didn't feel forced at all, while also making sense as there naturally would be more diversity in 2077.
