Is Darth Maul actually beatable?
Yes, yes, yes, I know older devs were supposed to harm their customers physically as much as possible (I suppose as a punishment for giving them money), so, going beyond that, is there a viable strategy to beat him? I mean, he reads your inputs to almost always block you, he can use force powers instantly and infinitely, he stunlocks you to death whenever he pleases, he suddenly does an uppercut which I suppose is even theoretically impossible to counter, he cannot be flung to the ground, he has a ton of HP, and at a certain point becomes almost untouchable. Any advice?

Mash the attack button on the fastest combo attack your character has. Don't overthink it trying to land any combos on him. As long as you spam him with a fast attack he will be stun locked and unable to do anything. He may knock you back sometimes but then just block his attacks for a moment until you get another opening and go back to mashing buttons. For most characters this will be square/X button but some of them have a faster attack on the Y or B buttons instead (or triangle/circle).

Yeah, this has to be one of the most fascinating fights in video game history, because it is a deceptive test of intelligence. Naturally one has the expectation it will be this epic duel like they saw in the movie, jumping around and exchanging blows and whatnot, making use of all the combos and force powers you've been collecting up to this point. But cheesing him is in fact the ONLY viable strategy, and it is only those combos and force powers that give him no room to react or can be used from a safe distance that are of any use here.

Indeed, I finally got him with Obi-Wan. I tried with all the other Jedi too, but he is the only one who is fast enough with his primary attack combo. I had problems only in the very final phase, where Maul suddenly becomes able to break through anything, for some reason. Even the fastest attack of Obi-Wan became useless in that situation, I managed to beat him only because I pushed him towards the hole, thus forcing him to continuously re-position. I honestly don't know how people are able to hit him in this phase without using this trick, he becomes literally untouchable.

Watch this guy beat Maul as Plo Koon (the slowest jedi). It's the original game but I assume the difficulty is the same. Anything is possible if you try...

No way, in this remaster Maul is MUCH more aggressive. Like, ENORMOUSLY more. Definitely the difficulty is not the same. And I play on easy.
i've gotten to the final room as Plo Koon, but it's HIGHLY arbitrary. only 2 combos actually land any hits on him and he still blocks them 95% of the time.

I still havent beaten maul.
What I noticed kinda works is bait him into attacking you by blocking. As soon as he hits you once try to attack him. If you keep blocking he will break your block and stunlock you. If you just attack him he will block all of your attacks. You will take some damage by doing this and risk getting completely demolished by him. By baiting him into attacking you can actually land some hits tho. Once he starts running away hit him as much as possible.

Indeed I just found out that a fully maxed Qui Gon is actually much better than Obi Wan. Against mobs too.
Uhh, so I kinda cheated. I have a couple favorite combos mapped to single buttons. You assign multiple buttons to a single button, and set a simulated delay between the button presses. To execute the combo, hold the button down and if you set delay timing right, it'll be a perfect combo every time.

Yes I just ade a post, For those stuck on Final battle just pick Queen Amidala and keep shooting (O) button PlayStation shoots 3 shots from distance at Darth Maul, you can get many points from this aswell.
Like every other boss battle: Mash him with fast attack into oblivion.

That's the only way I beat Darth Maul on the Playstation. lol
Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, and Mace can all beat him fairly easily. Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan specifically absolutely dunk on him from just spamming the same attacks over and over. On the other hand, I genuinely think he might be unbeatable if you're playing Plo Koon, his attacks legit just don't come out fast enough to break Maul's block, and before your attack animation even finishes he can just floor you with an endless combo. Good thing there's no achievement tied to beating the game with him lol.

I can't beat him with Mace Windu, how do you do that? He deals a lot of damage but is VERY slow, Maul immediately softlocks me without effort, I can't land even a single attack. Instead I am very comfortable with Adi Gallia, she does the same damage as Windu but she is MUCH faster. Also... well, I always thought she is one of the prettiest Jedi ahahah!
