Oculus Quest2 as Rift cant start game
I have set the "render mode" to Open VR and tried Oculus Rift. I have tried running SteamVR then choosing AC from the list of apps, just get a banner screen with news and stuff. The video output is not coming to the headset. I am installing on a new PC more powerful than my first setup on which it worked. I see something about "Content Manager" but have no idea where to find that. All help greatly appreciated.

The thing is many people think AC will automatically know everything when we connect x wheel or x controller to the PC. It won't. We have to go in to control settings and assign every controls one by one, gas, brake, gear up, down, etc. Then save your control profile, and launch another race and try.

Also a good idea to bind "recenter VR headset" to an easy to reach button so you can adjust which way is facing forward in VR. The default for this is CTRL+Space.

This is a public notice for all Quest 2 users. You don't need SteamVR running at all. It just uses up resources for nothing.

1. install PC oculus app
2. link quest2 to pc by syncing it with oculus app
3. connect your headset to your PC via the headset menu, and make sure you can see your PC desktop
4. set AC render mode to OCULUS RIFT, not OpenVR. OpenVR will always start SteamVR which we don't need.
5. Launch a race and check.

A couple tips. You can up the device resolution in the PC oculus app to around 1.3x, and also in Content manager > settings > AC > video, you can set the VR pixel density also to 1.3. These 2 little tweaks will result in a cleaner sharper VR image on the quest2.

Thanks for the help. I’ll try as you say, is the game playable without a wheel-shifter-pedals? I am planning to get those eventually but till then?

@ Fret I get in and I am in the VR environment. I so far am not able to do anything, initiate any action. My controllers seem totally useless, I tried each button joystick trigger or grip but nothing made any action. Well at least I was able to get a Lotus for practice at LaGuna Seca.
