And what is the correct one for your monitor?
The fov police might be coming to this thread but when I first started I went nuts trying to get the 'right' fov.
With that said, there are fov calculators that you can use to get the right fov. Personally I just have my in car hud match up with the bottom of my monitor over my wheel base.
The lower FoV you have the better you can see ahead and more precision you can have.
If you get triple screens you can actually come back to driving for fun, and its much better, because you have much more control over the car.
Hard to say because distance to it matters the most.
If you get it completely in your face you can go even 30s. But if its reasonably close on a desk around 45 seems a decent copromise.
But ultimately its about what you use it for. If you want to drift on single screen higher FoV is needed. Thou i this case i would change it often.
If you miss dashboard on lower fov, there is driver eyes position app, move yourself backward, look more down etc (remember to save).
For my setup it would be 35 degrees, which I sit about 55cm from the screen which is 21:9 34" with a wheel and pedals.
If you're using a controller and sitting further away, just use what suits your setup- just be aware that using a too high FOV will distort track lengths and corners but if you're not really going for more sim experience, its probably whatever you feel is best.
The best setup IMO is triple screens because then you don't need to be concerned with FOV as its calculated correctly for you when entering your screen specs and you get the most immersive experience, outside VR.
but in the end its up to you what you like not what others use

FoV? What FoV? i'm in VR!!
FoV is just world scale in VR, and it was NOT always correct by default in any game :).
