Graphics driver stopped responding and had to be reset, causing Assetto Corsa to crash
Greetings to the Community

Im kindly seeking help, regarding my assetto corsa, it has been crashing, re-installed it, reset content manager, tried different versions of CSP, set the graphics to the minimum, installed Visual C++, DirectX Runtime and 10/11, updated the graphics driver to the latest but the game still crashing :steamfacepalm:

Greetings my good fellow.

Are you crashing while in game, like during racing, or do you mean it doesn't even load a race at all? As in crashing back to the menu? Just clarifying because both have different possible causes. Last year a few games, like AC, started randomly crashing out of the blue. But I didn't get a GPU error like you, my screen would just go black and my PC would restart. It was super weird and eventually after some digging around I found out it was a PSU issue.

Given the error message you get it seems GPU related. Are you overclocking by chance?
Also double check your CM video resolution isn't set to auto, and matches the same as your monitor res. Sometimes these issues can be simple tick box away, and sometimes they can be as big as hardware problems like in my case.

Overheat. Check fans and heat sinks for dust.

Hi Sassanid, thanks for taking your time and replaying...

My windows was reading the old file destination (Documents-Assetto Corsa-cfg) which the previous folder path contained /One-drive/..

Had to reinstall windows , reinstalled AC, then deleted ACTool(App Data) and the AC folder in Documents, then deleted the car mods (which was getting AC stuck, Car metadata 100%).

Its working now

Good job brother. And thanks for mentioning the fix so others in the same situation can try this too

he mentioned a bunch of things, which might have helped. not the fix.
id say, windows was broken and the reinstall "fixed" it.

A windows reinstall is a nuclear option that I haven't had to do for over 20yrs.
