Looking at the Mad Catz wheel

Does anyone have experience with mad catz products?

I just saw this wheel on amazon, which looks really cool.

Do they make good wheels?

Just be warned with the TX, the pedals are cheapy and it's basically a low budget T500. ISR are using T500 pedals and the T500 Ferrari GTE (458 challenge) wheel rim upgrade.

The website states the TX is supported by Xbone and PC, no PS3/PS4 or Xbox 360.

Used to sell Madcatz gear many, many years back and we had a high rate of return. It -was- garbage then, not 100% sure if it's still garbage now but sometimes things just stick in your head and it's hard to shake the feeling.

I've got a G27 and reckoning it will outlast many a "madcatz" - could be a false economy buying :)

Here is a customer review of the tx, from a guy who had the csr like me. He seems very positive calling it a slight upgrade on his csr.

So unless I here some news about the new fanatec wheel soon, I'm gonna get the TX

If it's only a slight upgrade from the CSR, I honestly can't justify the price for it. As a CSR owner, I wouldn't drop 400 dollars on a new wheel just for a "slight" upgrade.

Either way, a slight upgrade from a 200 dollar wheel for a 400 dollar wheel isn't what I call an upgrade.

I've ordered the TX wheel, so we will see if this is a huge mistake or not.

The reason I wanted it was the xbox one compatibility and the abilty to change wheels, between f1 and the traditional style.

Also I just saw a youtube vid were a guy fitted a real sparco wheel, using a aftermarket hub.

I got a great deal which means it was cheaper than my CSR, when including import taxes and delivery.

But of course, that all means nothing if its crap.

The TX is great. Feels solid, good quality and powerful.

Compared to my csr its better in every way, apart from the clamp doesn't work too well, the wheel is slightly smaller and the base is 1.5 x bigger.

But the experience is far better, surprising the pedals are OK. I'm not that bothered about a clutch at this point in time. Because I want to buy a set with a brake cell aswell as clutch, some time in the future.

Overall this was a good buy. I have also ordered the GTE wheel, but on reflection it may not be necessary, but we will see when it arrives.

Haha, gaffa taped to the table cloth. Why bother with a clamp, just use some tape to hold it down!

Sai, are you planning on getting this for the xbox one? Because i made a huge mistake and got the only other alternative wheel for the xbox one, the thrustmaster. Not to bash on thrustmaster but the particular model for the xbox one is almost all plastic and feels like a toy...im so mad id didnt get this madcatz for it....has much more metal and the wheel is wrapped in leather.

I got the TX and I'm really happy with it (check my previous post). my only gripe is the size of the wheel, but the mad catz wheel looks about the same.

On the plus side thrustmaster already has a aftermarket wheel available, unlike MC.

If so I'd like to know the difference, I would be really surprised if it's better.
