Tire spin and drifting
Hi , i have been testing early version of the game few months ago and i had a very big problem with drifting. The thing was that on first gear when i hit full throtle , i had no tire spin at all like TC was limiting me always , even if I turned it off. Now i am wondering about buying this game but only if this issue is fixed. Is it ?

I think that deends on what car you are using, and your tire temperature, if you drive an M3 E92 for 2-3 laps fast you will startto get heaps of tire spin, Also there are cars with proper engines for drifting, so tire spin is not a problem.

HellzWind , its not normal. I have driven many cars and this has never happened to me. You cant drift with this thing and i wont buy it unless it is working on 100% because this game cant be sim unless this thing is working. And i have tryed to turn off both TC´s and it wasnt working. There was a BIG BIG discussion in original forum of AC site but i cant find it anymore. I would like to talk to some developer of this game. Is that possible here on Steam ?

Do you have problems drifting with the M3 E92 with warm tires? Could you capture a video of how you initiate drifting after a few laps of warm-up and it fails?

Can I ask you a question, how are you testing the Early version of Assetto Corsa, if you haven't purchased it, as far as I know Assetto Corsa is ONLY available on steam, Steam tells me you have not purhcased Assetto Corsa, stop asking for help for pirated software.

Kunos should close this post, has it's giving help & support to those, that like to help themselfs, by pirating their software.

God you are so wrong.... I dont know how long ago it was , but i was playing it with my friend , and i know he didnt have pirated version , i cant contact him now but i will ask him anyway.. I was just wondering , if the game is different from early version version and if it has that thing with tire spin fixed. I am asking because i want to buy this game.

Soltzman, you need to provide more detail. What car did you drive when you tested? How did you ensure that TC really was turned off, not only in game assist but actually in the car as well? Did you warm the tired up, or just try from cold? You keep mixing terms like drifting and spinning, meaning it's not at all clear what you consider a problem with the game.

Also remember that only the M3 has tires which are suitable for drifting (and, for that matter, spinning). Other cars have tyres which should grip as well as possible. Changing tyres and other parameters are not yet in the game, so you need to be very careful what you use to try out the physics with.

There is no need to explain more. I tried many ways how to turn TC , both in car and in options and there was always smt limiting me. I have played too many Sim games to see what is wrong . I am going to ask developers on their site somehow since you are not the one. And if it dont work , i wont buy it. I have played RF1 and this tire spin thing is something totally else. I have driven too many cars in real life to tell you that M3 with 400 hsp is not able to do tirespin. Personaly , i have BMW 6 with 286 hsp and it can do tirespin with big tires , cold , warm , any time from first gear. Not mentioning M3 with 400. If this thing is not fixed , it cant call it self racin sim , end of story.

I don't know what this thread is supposed to be all about, but if you just want to drift, choose the E30 drift-spec, problem solved. The first E30 was hard to get it into a slide, but the drift spec is perfect.

I can't see how anyone would have an issue getting the tires to spin in the current build.
(It has some kind of anti-stall/TC thing when you're at a stand-still and hammer the throttle without first engaging then dropping the clutch while revving ); but aside from that, it all behaves as it should - as the various YouTube clips of people drifting demonstrate.

eladnosloc , so you are trying to say that when you hammer the throttle on 1st gear trying to accelerate from 0-x kph , your tires dont spin like crazy that you cant even move ? When i was playing R-factor 1 , even cars with 350 hsp were able to do such thing as i mentioned.

I am only asking if this issue is fixed since first update. I was playing this game month ago with my friend(cant contact him now). I dont own this game and i havent palyed it for a month but if this is fixed , i am going to buy this .

ok

Tyre spinning aint hard in AS in any car it is possible. The drift car setup and setting on the BMW's is fine. I cannot drift properly in game but I can get the tailend out no problem just can't get the hang of hanging onto it.

Have to be careful as this is still not the full spec game, or the full options. Either buy it because you want to try it with that in mind, or wait till you can have a go on your friends updated version ( if he had it on Steam it will be uptodate )

There is certainly a need to explain more, Soltzman. It sounds like you're complaining about the clutch aid at start from standstill, and yet you keep mixing in terms like drifting. Yes, the game has a built in aid allowing you to drive without an analog clutch pedal, and yes, if you have that turned on it will prevent you from spin out completely from stand still. No, that in no way affects drifting, or spinning ONCE YOU ARE MOVING.

But since you refuse to actually explain what your issue is, no-one can answer with anything else than "the physics of this game is fantastic", since that is the truth.
Soltzman Jan 1, 2014 @ 6:27am
No , that clutch or TC or whatever it was affected drifting directly therefore , i couldnt drift with M3 at all. I was going around the corner in M3 and i hit throttle on 100% , yet no oversteering appeared and i know how to drift. I was trying it with other cars and i was always limidet like on the start , i couldnt do tirespin on other geaers in corners(i turned off both TC , even ABS). I personally have bmw 6 with 286 hsp and i can do tirespin od third gear. This was just so weird.
