Worth buying for casual gamer?
Hello there. So, i want to play 2 or 3 races in evenings with my xbawks controller on PC. Is it racing simulator like rFactor and others? Or just racing game with sim. elements in it? I understand that this is in pre-production state and stuff.

One of the most promising aspects of AC is its intent to cater to more that just full blown sim experts without detracting from the quality that those experts expect.
I really hope Kunos stick to the idea, its a model that will generate far more revenue for development and that benefits everyone.

This casual gamer just bought it and it's awesome. Waiting for my G27 to arrive in a couple of days now.

the game part will come into effect once mod tools are relased and you can create whatever world of driving you want whether its moon physics f1 style of full blown dirft (which i am planning to do in the future) all this included with the pre packaged sim deal i think its worth its weight in platinum honestly

I am adding this to my wishlist which is a stalling action prior to pushing the purchase button ......... I really do not want a CM F1 franchise experience to repeat [CM F1 is a fine game in it's own right, just not sim enough for me]
Heh, i hope devs wont mess everything up.

Dude, you will buy this game as casual and I bet one week later you will be buying a wheel to play. This game is so good.
And sometimes I play with a controller, very good support for x360 controller.

This man speaks the truth, I put over 40 hours now into AC using a 360 pad, just ordered a Fanatec wheel & pedal set to get an even better experience....

I'm a casual racer myself and i like it. I know i'll never be the best and i never will compete with the best drivers, nor i have time for this nor i want this, but it's really fun to drive in this game. I hope this game will be for eveyrone when it's released, i don't want it to be pro only. I hope there will be plenty of servers for everyone's liking.

Yes it caters for the casual crowd, it also caters to the hardcore simracer.

That's why this game supports keyboard controls, Xbox and wheels.

You start the game, pick a car, track and drive. Easy. You can pick gamer, pro or realistic settings to give you a unique driving experience with some assistance, for example, gamer mode puts on automatic clutch and stuff like that, realistic turns off all assists.

This way you can gradually build up skills and slowly remove the assists, I believe it is never faster to drive with them on, but if you're new they will help at first. Someone might be able to confirm that.

It doesn't need a wheel to be fun! I played it at a friends on a lowly keyboard and it's the most fun I've ever had in a driving game. The handling is fantastic and whenever I went off I knew the instant what I'd done wrong unlike most driving games

I'm obviously never going to compete with the sim addicts on their wheels but assuming the AI has difficulty levels to compensate for my suboptimal choice of input and the casual approach I'll take to the game, then I can't see why this couldn't be the best PC driving game for me. It's certainly high up on my wihslist and I'll be getting it once the AI is in.
