thrustmaster control panel not working

I could access the control panel normally and the regular menu seen in any thrustmaster wheel would appear, but instead i see a menu called HIDI2C Device properties, with two tabs called settings and test that don't do anything, the reset to default button found in the settings tab doesn't do anything either, and the calibrate option is grayed out.
The shifter's control panel appears normally, without any issues.
I don't recall installing anything that could've interfered with the firmware or drivers, and they are updated. I've reinstalled them multiple times
