Is it just me or is the first race in career mode ridiculously hard? Just wondering if I'm the crappest driver in the world here (I know I'm pretty rubbish lol) or if others are having problems too, I'm embarassingly really really struggling with getting >4th!

I am struggling, best result is 4 or 5th, but it says in settings starting position 2nd. Maybe I need more pratice I am going to to wait till final release.

2nd here, If I really pushed hard I could probably get 1st, but I'm more likely to end up off the track...

Damn! How lol!? I only manage to get 5th or above when I ram into the AI on corners lol :p Driving properly usually gets me 6th and skidding around the corners drastically slows me down.

That setup is definitely a bit better, a little bit faster now I'm using only 14 litres of fuel too... wonder how little fuel I can get away with lol.

4l is more than enought for 3 lap. :)

I turn the fuel consumption off in the race settings and run with 1 litre.

Gold on the first try with the default setup. Turn the traction control off and you should be able to blow past most the cars before the first turn. Computer brakes far to early, so focus on out-braking them into the turns.

Sounds more reasonable as the very first race of the career. This is already very hard for a lot of people. Bronze shouldn't be an issue after several tries but I don't see myself getting Silver any time soon. I expected some challenge but for the first race, oh boy. If it gets more and more difficult then i'm screwed in no time. Maybe I'm just a horrible driver :p

Suppose I could use the AI as stopping power in corners instead of braking myself but I don't think it's intended to win like that

Lol! TC off, set fuel to 3 litres and used that RD setup and got 2nd on my first try.
