If you are into downloading Modded cars from other websites, you might find that by installing these mods, you will get the error that the parent car is missing. This is because many Modded cars use a DLC car as the base car so no base car the modded car might not work or you have to separate it and fix any errors. To prevent this and other similar errors due to installs without the "Original" car, then I recommend buying all DLC's/
Now if you don't want to buy then all then you will just have to figure out what you want for yourself as whatever DLC's you choose, this will dictate what online cars, tracks etc you have access to. Some servers you might have the track but not the DLC car and visa versa or worse, you will have neither car or track to play
If there is one DLC to buy then get the Japanese pack as many other modded cars are based around this DLC and is used on many online servers including No Hesi and AOE Boys etc.
If you go to Assetto Corsa online, here you can check out the servers first to see what kind of servers you like. From here you can see what cars are necessary to have installed tp join. Some servers allow you to download cars directly from them, others will expect you to have them already as part of the games DLC.
For easy use and compatibility, it is recommended to get them all, especially if you want to play online or give the most cars if you set up a server for yourself.
So from here on out, you will have to do your own research regarding what DLC's to get as at the end of the day it depends on what YOU want and which online servers YOU want to drive and what these servers require TOU to have installed before YOU can join. Basically you will not be allowed on any server that requires any 1 car / track from any paid DLC as each car is validated before you can drive it.
I have checked out your extensive game list. You have bought some expensive games and DLC's. Consider this no different. As you said you want to get the most out of the game then I suggest you buy either the Japanese pack or buy them all. If you think 30 euros is expensive for all the game and all DLC content that allows you sooooo much more in game fun and opens a whole new online experience then best not to bother with the game at all, just delete it and move along.
BTW, I hope you already have the full version of Content Manager or plan to buy it otherwise I wouldn't even bother with the game using the original launcher. Plus Pure weather / rain effects cost $1 (per month) also so I hope you dont break your bank!
let us know what you decide to buy and happy racing!
