The wiper on the Mercedes Benz C9
Why oh why is the wiper right in the middle of the front window? Whoever at Kunos made that poor decision to put it there should blush in shame and put it were it belongs. Why do want me to look at that thing, or is there a way to make it go down ?

That's the default position in the real car. (at least in the google images I found). And I think the same is true for other Group C LMP cars, for example the mazda 787b, also has the windscreen wiper in the middle.

Yep. It belongs to that position.

Hm i tested it in the showroom and it also makes sense in a technical way, cause the wiper is going twice over the driver side and non driver side.
I could not make sense about the wiperposition as it is till now.
So shame on me i guess. But it will still be an annoyance in my sight .

The windscreen wipers are off less than they are on and when they are on you are going slower, usually because its raining, keeping it in the centre is an aerodynamic choice.

I used to have a tuned Corrado and at high speed the wipers didnt work because they lifted, i had to put little fins on them to keep them down onto the windscreen.

What i mean is the advantage of the wiper beeing in the middle during rain.
I dont think it is mainly an aerodynamic choice.

Having just single wiper motor for one big wiper blade is less weight than two wiper motors for two smaller blades.

Lots of race cars have them even the V8 supercars and it's in a vertical position because it reduces drag, ever so slightly but that's the logic behind it. Some say it's purely for mechanical reasons but they forget that vertical wipers are used across a large range of race cars so I doubt that's the case. It's purely to reduce a little bit of drag ie aerodynamics.

By the way, wipers in most cars seem to work in showroom, makes me wonder why that has not been added into actual racing.
Yes, there's no rain currently but there should be bugs and dirt gathering on windscreen and visor tearaway..

Dirt is cummulative on the car body, but I think not on the windscreen. So again there's no use for wiper animation. They could have still put it in, but even not present at the moment is ok. But you also need to spray the windshield with water to clean it with the wipers.

Yes, but that would still be better than no wipers at all.

I am looking forward to having some 24h endurance racing at some point after all.. ;)
