As written in the title i have downloaded some apps (tyre temp and p-tracker) and, even if I select them in the general menu, i can't choose them when i'm on the track. what is the problem?

go here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\system\cfg

and open assetto_corsa file with notepad and set ENABLE_DEV_APPS = 1 instead of 0

If they are not shown in game but are available in launcher options, they are probably not initializing properly, can't think of a good reason except for the easy stuff like "old app version or that you missed the app on the bar (it can get pretty long) or that something like antivirus is blocking the files from loading"

A log file would probably be the easiest way to solve this (C:\Users\#username#\Documents\Assetto Corsa\logs) but idk if you can attach files here (don't paste the contents here, it's too long), best would be to ask in the relevant app thread like this here:
http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/ptracker-stracker-v2-6-new-stracker-version-2-6-10.13169/
And preferably zip the whole log folder before linking it.

i don't know if this helped you or not...i was just passing along the info I got from the official ac forums when i had a similar issue and this technique helped me. Sorry I didn't explain in my previous post.

[go here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\system\cfg

and open assetto_corsa file with notepad and set ENABLE_DEV_APPS = 1 instead of 0]

Make sure you've unpacked the .zip (or .rar, whatever it is) properly and in the right place. If the folders inside it are, as they usually are, named 'apps' and 'content', then you need to unpack it to the root of your AC-installation folder (and make sure your zip-program does so with all filepaths included).

(as the 'content' folder tends to hold the GUI-icons, I'm guessing the above is the problem, as you seem to be missing those)

If however, the folder inside is called something like, for example, 'random_app', and it has atleast one .py file inside then you need to extract that directly to \assettocorsa\apps\python\

i have tried to unzip the apps i needed with two programs and apparently there's no problem about unzipping since it unzips each file inside, paths included. i checked both gui and python folder and they seem ok with the other non-installed apps. i still can't select them in-game. other suggestions?

Hmm.. I'm assuming you're using (or trying to) Danny Giusa's tyre temp? Are you sure you got the latest version? here: http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/danny-giusas-tyre-temperatures-v1-6-0-improved-wear-accuracy-and-customization-possibilities.14054/

(this has been updated/maintained by never_eat_yellow_snow1 for some time now, the original thread having an outdated version)

Couldn't say anything about ptracker though, haven't used it, yet. I'll try it later and see if I have any issues. You might also want to ask/look around the official forum.

apparently i have found the actual issue. the problem is this file: tyre_temp.py which is in apps\python\tyre_temp. if i use an older version, 1.2, it works quite fine i guess but i lack some infos. can someone send me their own updated file?

I installed the tyretemp app with no fuss and it works. Try putting in the tyretemp without PTracker.
