Logitech Rumblepad 2
I own a Logitech Rumblepad 2 and it is basically useless in your game. The directional pad isn't detected and there is no way to apply a dead zone to the steering which makes it pretty much impossible. I own quite a lot of racing games and simulators, including Project Cars and I have never had this problem until now.

Yes, under wheel/custom, the d-pad doesn't work, nor there is a deadzone setting. Only under x360 input. Maybe you can emulate your gamepad as x360.

I have found the best results by using this free Xbox 360 Emulator software. http://www.x360ce.com/ . Once you work out how to set it up and adjust for steering and throttle/brake, the control is very steady and smooth. Obviously one will have to set up other buttons and sensitivity etc to ones own preference.

Thanks for that Graham. I actually went and bought an Xbox 360 Controller (USB) and I got a refund on this game because of the controller issues, but I do appreciate your help.

Are you the same guy who bought a screwdriver to hammer in a nail before realising you needed a hammer?

I have a similar issue with both my x360 usb controller and wheel. It wont recognise the D pad. It also conflicts itself when you have more than one controller plugged in, say i leave my usb360 pad in and i plug in wheel and use it, i gotta close the game to only restart the game then some times i have to set up the controls like up to 3 times before it starts working again. Controller support in the game is a bit ♥♥♥♥

I contacted them and controller support is non-existant. They were telling me it wasn't an issue because they don't support USB controllers. There was nothing in the advertising material that stated that you must have a steering wheel and pedals. I contacted Steam and got a refund. It wasn't an overly fantastic game anyway.

It's a driving sim. You need a wheel.
Also, it's a great sim. Curious how you managed to make a judgement on a game you've never properly played. Curious indeed.

This thread was about an issue, not your opinion. Go and troll somewhere else, or get a life maybe?!

You kinda gave an opinion yourself, so you are pretty telling yourself to go troll somewhere else, or get a life maybe?! ;)

if they didnt support gamepads they kill themself. this is a must-have and im very p*** o** to play with my x360 or rumblepad. and sure it works for my g25 but it need too much space for the most time. and first off all its a game. developers have to think about this again

Rats. I wish I had read this post before buying Assetto Corsa in the sale. I would love a steering wheel but, if I could afford one, there is no room in my flat. I love my Rumblepad 2 (far superior to an XBox controller) so I feel very disappointed to find that it will not work properly in this game. I used to simply not buy games that did not allow for key bindings, but it is so long since I came across a game that does not do this that I forgot to check.
For anyone else looking at this extremely cheap game, learn from my mistake. Buyer beware.

I just read this on the store page:
HARDWARE COMPATIBILITY
Enjoy ASSETTO CORSA using any kind of game device: keyboard, joypad, joystick, steering wheels...
