The game doesn't have support for friends laps with ghost cars. You can only see your own ghost. The only way is for a friend to send you the file of his ghost car, but I see how that can be bothersome.

What AC has is livetiming leaderboards for all official content and even some modded content: http://www.radiators-champ.com/RSRLiveTiming/index.php Which means you can hotlap on your own and try to beat lap times of other drivers.

I ask as pCARS misses the same feature which I thought would have been a lock-in for a racing game, especially one using Steamworks.

Raceroom racing experience (search on steam, is free to install and play with some cars/tracks), might have a better online leaderboard integration and is possible that they have friends ghost to race against, in hotlap mode. You could ask on their forum.

Either way, about AC, I think for now more development on ghost feature is not that needed, since there are plenty of open online servers where you can race other people, although you need to be cautious, since even though this is a sim racing game, people are not professional drivers and they will make several mistakes, that could ruin your race. But is still nice to race, every online race is quite competitive, not easy to finish in the top 5.

I recommend on sale, the game+dreampack package, since it gives 10 extra cars and laser-scanned Nordschleife, so is very good value for the price. And since this is a sale, the whole package is much cheaper than when buying the game out of sale season. "Cheaper", depends on your wallet of course, because I find the price is right for the quality of driving/racing simulation, and amount of content. And is still a game being developed with new free and paid content, new features and bug fixing, so is still a relevant game to pick up and play.

if he installs rsr i think you can race a friends ghost so long as he has a time too on rsr but you need to locate said friend on leaderboards then click to race his ghost,rsr or revali cant remember which one does it

thanks, didn't know. So in RSR you need to add people where it says "Add as RSR friend"? Then if both have a time on that car and track, it will install his ghost?
I added you on RSR, can we test this feature when you have time?

i dont use the app anymore but i remember selecting a person on the lb and racing his car
