Are you sure you downloaded this driver version?
http://support.logitech.com/product/g27-racing-wheel
And not this one?
http://support.logitech.com/software/gaming-software
This is stoping pot inside from recognising lateral movement on the shifter so it can only see forwards and backwards.
here i have found a picture of the internals of the G27 shifter
http://s769.photobucket.com/user/Pepetoni13/media/PICT3010.jpg.html
you can see the wires in the front of the piccy it just needs to reconnected if you are familiar on how to use a soldering iron and heat shrink you should have no problems.
note the wires are very fineand easily damaged.
Did you even read the post by carlgallagher1 at all ?
(im sorry to bash you for trying to help another person but....)
The device in question g27 shifter is out putting multiple button pushes for the same movement
in multiple programs including xpadder this has nothing to do with selecting profiles in game.
Also the problem seems to be interfearing with the paddle shifters on the wheel preventing it from shifting. (most likely due to the hardware problem with the H shifter)
Its real simple to take appart the shifter and have a look in side dont be scared.
1.You can take the gray plastic h shifter patern off the shifter knob to reveal a screew that undoes the shifter knob.
2.Take out the 6 hex head screews around the H shifter base that hold the shifter boot in place and lift the boot off aswell.
now you should be able to see if any damage has been caused to these wires

of course you will be looking from above but any damage will be easy to see
and you can shift with it like this to see the movement action.
(both of mine were still under warrenty when this happend to me so logitech replaced the entire units).
I wish you luck on your repairs and may the force be with you.
Here is a break down guide for the shifter just incase you need it.

EDIT :- replace missing image links with new ones and add break down guide for shifter.
Looks like the G27 does not work correctly when connected to a USB 3.0 port. Make sure you connect it do a USB 2.0 port specifically, refer to your motherboard manual which ones on the back panel are 2.0s and 3.0s, and your motherboard/case manual which ones on the front panel are 2.0 or 3.0.
I know it's a /necro, but I haven't found a solution through Google yet, and this is a top result. Hope it helps, mine works all fine now
After quick google search I am seeing lots of people with Windows 10 having problerms with USB3 and G27 being recognised incorrectly as a Driving Force wheel casing things to not work right.
I belive this was a MS update that caused this problem and there is a simple fix for this if this is your problem. I did have this problem my self a few weeks back and I used this video guide https://youtu.be/SV0kYPRLboE it solved my issue.
There are how-to's and work-arounds availabe, yet it requires you to put in your time and effort to make use of them.
Best work-around in this case: don't use Windows 10 (especially the non-pro, homeuser version) if you can help it.
