Quality - none (turns reflex off), low, medium, high.
Rendering frequency - static, very low, low, medium, high, very high, ultra.
So the rendering frequency is how much the reflections update according to the environment.
In the video.ini (configuration file), you encounter this:

FARPLANE=500
That's the setting for reflection: medium - high. For high-ultra it would be 2048 size and 6 faces per frame. Farplane remains at 500 but is also editable in the file and reacts in the game, haven't tested much with that, as high-ultra for my gpu really pushes it to the max.
Some lods transitions are more noticeable than others.
