Do we get DLC's for free?
So I consider myself a supporter in this game. I bought it the first couple months it went up on steam during the alpha or beta stage, not sure.

Some games give you all the DLC's for free for being this kind of supporter.

My question on this thread is: Does this hold true with this game or do I need to buy it?

I havent played in a long while and noticed this update so I havent even started the game yet. But looking forward to trying all the new updates, especially if I get the DLC for free:)

Thanks for taking the time to answer my post:)

Before you bought the game in Early Access, they listed all the content and features which were going to be available once the game is released v1.0 (we are now at v1.1.1). And all that content was delivered by game release.

They added extra content for Early Access users which wasn't initially planned for release: Spa circuit, ruf yellowbird, mercedes sls gt3, laferrari, shelby cobra.

The dream pack dlc was announced on 24th December 2013 (with the Nordschleife being the main attraction, then other 10 great cars were voted by the community back then).

Before dream pack release now in March 2015, there was a pre-order week where you could get the dlc for 9.99€. Now the price is 14.99€. Imo, I still think is a good deal for 10 cars and Nordschleife in 3 layouts (endurance gp+nords, nordschleife, and tourist layout).

There will be more free and paid content this year. Though the paid content greatly helps to keep developing the gameplay by bug fixing and adding new features, like they did on v1.1 update and before. And also cover the license costs for the official content that is developed.

Yeah I totally get what you are saying. I bought in to this game because I believe in it. Its already fun but Im still waiting for the major tweaks to draw me in for hours. Its not quite there yet. As you get older I guess your attention span goes with it lol. I know its a sim but it still feels very plain jane.

I have faith that someday this game will have the potential to keep my attention for more than 20 minutes at a time.

Gotta say though, kudos to them for creating a great game and cant wait to see what else they add in the future.

If you don't enjoy the races with A.I (they are a bit better now, sometimes). Just take a car and hotlap on your own, slow/green surface, pick some weather type like light fog or light clouds, put ºC below 20. Maybe even pick street tyres for cars who have it. It gets much more interesting, I find it boring driving with 26ºc and optimum grip.

Do you have a force feedback wheel? Because since v1.1 the ffb has improved, so adjust the gain/strength for the car you're driving, as some can give too much force and your wheel will cut parts of the ffb received.

The paid DLC is well worth the money by the way, the Nordschleife is the best recreation I've ever seen in a video game.

I get what you're saying, it does lack something but then again I think the whole point of a sim like this is to chip away at your laptimes rather than have any gameplay like car collecting or earning money etc.

At first I thought the laserscanned `Nord didn't `look` that different from Snoopys- but when you try it, you will soon realise that hitting the same kerbs and points as you would in Snoopys causes the car to really react differently. The small bumps had me coming off within the first few corners, where In Snoopys mod I could manage lap after lap after lap without a hitch.

I find I am having to fight the wheel more, which in turn makes the laserscanned `Nord much more enjoyable.

At Kottenborn I love how the car shoots to the left in the dip on the approach to Schwedenkreuz, I can't remember the mod doing that.

You can get free mods, and use them for a few weeks.

Yeh, that's the one I noticed the most. I lost it there three times until I changed my approach and speed, it flicks the car from one side to the other like I didn't expect.

I don't mind paying for DLC when it's a nice add-on to the game.
But I've missed this DLC news entirely (played some other games instead of the race genre last couple of months), saw that it was recently released and looked, and saw that they are asking 15 euros for it =/
Dig some futher, I've noticed that they had it on sale for 9.99. Why not just keeping it at 9.99? -_- Fair price for this kind off DLC, if you ask me. 15 is just a bit too much, especially when you plan to add a lot of DLC of this kind in the future.

Well, at least I'm getting this DLC for 50% off then.. (I never(!!!) pay the full price anymore when it was on sale/cheaper. I'll be patient for when the deal is back or even better then that it was)
