Blurry Motion When Cornering
I've got blur turned off, tried vsync on/off/adaptive. With the framerate limited to 60 or not, when I do wide turns, I feel the background (objects, trees) overall look blurry in motion. It should feel snappier for a racer. I've also tried with low settings, turning off PP.... nothing :/ Even tried changing latency in the graphics config form 0 to 1.

Is there currently a known problem with Nvidia cards with vsync/Hz in this game? 60 fps is smooth to my eye in other games, I don't think I need to head to the 120hz club just yet.

GTX 780 FTW
3570K OC @ 4.2
8GB @ 1600
Corsair AX850
Eizo Foris 2333-BK monitor

Any help is MUCH appreciated.

120hz makes no difference, I know exactly what you are talking about. Am at 144hz, no vsync, i use frame limiter and i see the same thing. Settings accordingly to maintain 140+fps and i see the blur/stutter or whatever it is.

It could well be something to do with graphics clipping.

depth of field maybe?

Interesting. I do have it in a gaming mode as they say. Apparently this monitor is recommended for the fastest games. IDK anymore. Anyway, playing this with fullscreen checked off and DOF off helps a bit but it's still not perfect (maybe it's placebo). Thanks for the responses.

I don't experience any such noticable blurring- its not to say it isn't there, but are you sure it's not some of the g-force or shaking options causing it to look like its blurring when entering hard corners with added g-force?

Go into AC options and turn all the shake, g-force and such like options to zero- see if it solves your issue. Also try `lock to horizon` on and off and see how it looks.

I think I had the same problem. What solved to me (60 Hz monitor here) is disabling the Vsync and limiting the fps (on the game options) to something near my refresh rate (61 or 59 fps since the game doesn't let you limit to the exact number of your refresh rate).
Let me know if this helped you!

Sorry for my bad english.

One thing you haven't mentioned is what Processor you have or Motherboard. I too would of thought it was your monitor but you have a much better monitor than I do. Mine runs at 60mhz 5ms on which I get tearing some times with PP filters turned on. That was why I suggested Graphics clipping.

A lot of people when building systems don't think of the graphics clipping and just add any graphics card to a system. You may not of noticed it in other games because Assetto Corsa is system hungry. Do a search for forums and post your system details to see if you have clipping or not.
It's just a thought.

I forgot to mention that my CPU is an i5. I listed it just as a 3570K above, OC at 4.2GHZ. But my motherboard is an MSI Z77 mpower. I tried disabling the OC to see if there was a difference; none. I will definitely look into this clipping info.

I tried to do this, but I get the same thing unfortunately :/

I'll check this now.

There's no real reason why the game would be causing this with all of the above graphical features turned off.

To be honest, it's probably just your monitor.
I forget the proper terminology, but it's when the pixels can't 'de-fresh' the image fast enough, and you're left with a bleeding/bluring, which would become especially noticable when steering a car and having the whole horizon panning across the screen.

I'd say next time you experience it, open up an FPS game with real-ish, external, day-time environments and pan the camera, at a similar rate to how a car might steer, and see if you still get the blurring.

I occasionally get it on my monitor (a 7~ year old Sony Bravia TV).
I think it might happen, for me, when it's been on or off for too long...?
It feels like an "I'm overheating/underheated" performance issue.

When looking at panel specs this is mostly listed as "response time".

I don't think it is. The FPS games I've played I have not seen such an effect. I was just playing Talos Principle and it is EXTREMELY smooth and fast. But, I guess that is because the engine is so phenomenally well put together. Anyway, I tried it on my projector and tv and it's the same thing :/ After reading the AC forum, there does appear to be reports of an apparent issue with the engine not displaying the correct framerate/ problem with full screen exclusivity. Now that I look at it, objects passing by the side don't really look like they are going at 60fps, there is a miniscule micro stutter.

After everything, I installed Windows 7 x64 on a separate HDD. Almost butter smooth in comparison. I did re-install my Win 8.1 prior without success. Something is a miss with Windows 8 go figure. Can finally enjoy this game.... ahem, simulation. Thanks for the replies and hopefully this helps someone else.
